These are REAL tweets-

InsideHoops.com‏@InsideHoops
Source tells InsideHoops the #Knicks still might match Rockets offer and keep Jeremy Lin

Frank Isola‏@FisolaNYDN
The Knicks could fill out the rest of their roster with 1999 alums Chris Childs, Chris Dudley and of course No. 33

Landry Fields‏@landryfields
I want to thank ALL the Knick fans out there for their support over the past two years! Much love and respect, you will be missed! #NYK

considering he only averaged that for 10 games Id have to say none because it has never happened before.

That's his season stats, not the LInsanity stats, which are 25/10. He played for half an entire season. The skills that gave him those numbers aren't going away.

season stats are14.6ppg 6.2 apg. I like how you rounded up though

With Knicks paying lux tax, 1st two years on Lin could be worth the risk. Year 3 would be insane if he is a flash in the pan

Myabe the Knicks really did have an understanding with the Rockets and that's why the Rockets were going to sign Lin to the more favorable offer and that's why the Knicks threw the extra assets at the Rockets in the Camby trade. Fast forward, the Rockets get the assets in the Camby trade and then squelch on their end of the deal and work out a bigger offer with Lin. Dola wants his payback and wants to make the Rockets squirm. Here we are now... Just a crazy thought.

lol wat?

What exactly are the Knicks doing right now that is making it tough on Houston?

Going after Felton?

This is a time when quotes like that need green font or a source if they are real. People are too edgy to be punked even though I consider it a joke.

Its funny people posted that video when we first signed Felton, then he went on and put up all-star numbers.

yeah, i don't get the felton hate. he was good for us for the most part. had some bad habits with the poor shot selection and freezing out gallo, but he was overall a boon to our team.

i'll hate the move if it's to replace lin, but felton is really nice depth. this is a guy who was considered one of the better pg's in the league when he was with us.

we can use this depth to play melo at the four and squeeze out amar'e if he refuses to get his act together ...

In other words, unless Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan wants to pay 2 1-2 times what players are worth -- something not even Isiah Thomas would do -- then Lin's time in New York almost certainly is over.

And if that's what they do -- if they let Lin walk -- then they will have done the right thing.

With a top-heavy payroll in a soon-to-be tax-heavy world, the Knicks have a very small window of time to compete for a championship. They are in win-now mode, and they can't worry about anything other than putting the most competitive team possible on the floor. Despite his instant success last season, Lin remains a work in progress. With their top three players making $54 million next season on a team that couldn't get out of the first round the past two seasons, the Knicks don't have time for that.

And not even the Knicks, apparently, will have the money to pay a player who may or may not be a permanent starter -- much less an All-Star -- $15 million three years from now, when Anthony will be 30 years old and making $24.4 million.

The fact that Lin thrived primarily due to his seamless fit with the offense run by former coach Mike D'Antoni makes it even more sensible that the Knicks let him go. And if the combination of a CBA designed to rein in the top-spending teams and a rare period of sustained sound management from the Knicks is what we're witnessing, then I applaud both.

What will Duane Reade to do with their Lin merchandise?

That seems ridiculous. Everyone and their mother knew the Knicks would match that original offer. Even Woody let the cat out of the bag there. Lin didn't have the share anything.

Prigoni is an afterthought, collateral damage. Prigoni can take the offer and stay as the 15th man or he can go back home and start... or we can do right by him and trade to a team that needs depth at PG.

Prigoni is not a factor here. He was a nice guy to have as insurance... he was never a lock for any rotation minutes.

This makes no sense. If Lin is such a "work in progress," why was the team willing to match the Rockets' initial offer? And why not go after more PG's?
Felton came here to start next to JKidd, if he knows that he'll be coming off the bench, he would sign elsewhere to be a starter, even if he has to go to Sacramento.

Felton is a top15-20 PG in the league... how could he come here in a cheap deal to come off the bench?
That's not true; Thomas would start over him in Sacramento. There's not a single team in the NBA right now where Felton would be the starting PG, other than Houston.

I guess we forgot about Michael Andrew D'Antoni and the effect his system has on players' statistics.

Look at Felton's career before and after New York. Mediocre at best and downright awful last season.
