These are the same type of people that side eye a clean mofo jumping out of a clean whip looking and smelling just like a bag of money with ease and no worries.

They're the people that ask you what do you do for a living randomly.

at this point blame whoever u want. the knicks want to move on from a player who wanted to stay. cool. he has a ntc and wants to go to a contender only. sounds reasonable. present him with a trade to one or buy him out. nah, let's punish him instead. because that will make next year go oh so smooth.

But right now, he is not getting good return.

Trade him for garbage, buy him out, let him stay and do nothing - Melo wins.

melo doesn't win if what he wants is to stay a knick, which by all accounts has always been the case. that's why this is so trife.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

The minute Phil criticized his lack of ball movement. That was it.

I think Phil screwed up Player relations when he asked him to play Defense

Bargs is what made that pick go bye bye. We still would have owned a first round pick. Denver would have swapped with us. We would have dropped from 7th to 9th. That would have completed the Melo trade. Instead our FO moved that pick for BARGS LOL Yes Bargs they moved a top 10 pick for BARGS

the full amount counts against the cap no matter what. so what's the difference ? all of a sudden people are worried about james dolan's money ?

Is that true?? So we owe him lets say $54 mil, so if he took a buy out of lets say $45 mil we would still have the $54 coming off our cap??

No buyout. Just let him play out the season. My bet is that he opts out of his final year anyway. And if Phil doesn't like it, tough. He gave him the no-trade.

Are you kidding me? Phil has done melo wrong countless times.

You mean like that time Phil told him we were gonna rebuild and asked him to waive the NTC, and Melo said nah, which led to us trading for Rose and signing Noah, because Phil thought Melo was still good enough to get us to the playoffs?

So now it's melo's fault we signed Noah? Bwhahahahaha
Don't ever change, dude

We never gave melo ample support. How many stars are going to make the playoffs with melo's supporting cast? Not that many

Lets be straight here, he called him a ballho.. I can't even say it.. so brutal.

FIREPHIL!

Touche'!

Everybody has been saying the same about Melo since he's come to New York and even before then.

Doesn't play defense, ball stopper on offense, but can score.

Phil says it, and he's the worst thing to happen to the Knicks organization in decades.

If you can't take criticism from your boss, grow up...

Magic Johnson criticized D'Angelo Russell AFTER they traded him, basically saying he couldn't be a leader, couldn't make other players around him better and that nobody wanted to play for him. Can you imagine if Phil said stuff like this after we traded Melo? It would be headline news for days in NY. People don't actually read the comments Phil says about Melo, how he should take his talents somewhere where he can actually win, because we are not winning. Should Phil probably not be so open about Melo, yes. Has he "trashed" and "humiliated" him...hell no. Phil used to do this same stuff to Jordan, Shaq, and Kobe. Nothing Phil has said about Melo is untrue or humiliating. If Melo wants to play for the Cavs, waive the NTC, don't force a buyout.

Well, if he wants to stay a Knick, he can do that for 2 more years and there is nothing Phil or whoever can do about it.

Now we jealous because he has money? This board has hit an all time low lol.

Melo fans talk about everything but actual flaws in his game and the fact that he doesn't want to play for a winner.

Person 1:"Melo is almost last in the league in defensive rating"
Person 2: "You just mad cuz he styling on you"

His boss game him the option in his is going to exercise. The boss then can't blame the employee for exercising the option he gave him in the first place. The fans should be mad at the boss who did a terrible job and gave the employee the option in his contract.

Sure. There's definitely some of that. Can you blame them?

It's not like THEIR salaries are going up anytime soon as their boss(es) in a boardroom constantly scheme to see how they can save $1 by cutting back on what is otherwise a disposable workforce. Meanwhile Marbury is eating vaseline in front of a webcam in his mansion. Eddy Curry is showing up 5 months pregnant with a fast food belly. Amare is giving himself wine baths while recovering from a fight with a fire extinguisher. And lastly, a guy who would rather NOT play the system that he accepted a new contract from, collect a cheque and prevent a team from moving forward...miring it in mediocrity.

Those disgusting piece of sh#t posters who DARE get upset at athletes for being themselves...

I don't have a problem with Melo collecting a cheque. I don't don't want to hear about Phil Jackson NOT going after another player who doesn't fit his system anymore. Sure Phil is proving just like Walsh, just like Isiah Thomas, just like Scott Layden to be garbage but the guy who has the title Team President should go out on his terms...and no one else.

Is telling the truth about someone dragging their name through the mud?? Phil never said anything that wasn't true about Melo.

I hate that i've become someone that's against what Melo is doing cause i've always been such a fan of his but he needs to let this Phil shyt go, grow up and get out of New York to a winning team to finish his career on a winner.

No, Phil is the one making the decisions, so he gets the blame and the praise when it's deserved.

The point that you missed is that Phil told Melo in private that we were gonna rebuild, then Melo said F that, I'm staying, so Phil figured Melo's too good for us to be bad, might as well try and make the team better (he failed at that, but that's not the point). That was at the end of the 16 season, then when this season started, and Melo wasn't playing like we thought he would, is when Phil said he held the ball too much. That's all he said. "Melo holds the ball too much, he should make quicker decisions." Which led to Melo pouting, and eventually escalating into Phil saying we want to trade him.
