How are we getting LeMelo if he goes #1? How?

Unless the family promises to go back to Australia if not picked by the Knicks, then a trade ensues.

I don't think a team is going to be threatened by that. Seems like an empty threat...he's not going to turn down a chance of playing in the NBA. Too much riding on that and there brand.

LaMelo is the clear #1 pick if your team is desperate at PG. I like Onyeka a lot as well, just not for the Knicks.

Some raw notes I have that haven't been articulated properly yet.

- Ambidextrous around the rim, finishing with off-hand as well as his right.
- Body hesitations, head fakes, and shimmy's help him create space more than athleticism.
- At his most confident when initiating the PnR. Often makes the correct read, and has a Luka-like ability to whip it out off the penetration. Toys with help defenders.
- In transition struggles, mostly because he thinks he's Ray Allen with the pull-ups.
- Defensively, a lot of the time the effort isn't there. Rotations are lazy, but feels like it could be related to his over-effort on offense.
- The handle is as strong as his passing ability and what makes him deadly.

I was aiming for Yek when I had a pick...

I like your endorsement of Ball. I haven't watched jack. Hopefully we move up.

My heart is broken that you don't have Isaac anymore. SGA/Isaac was so fun. Yek fits your eye of talent, so no surprise there. He's a new-era big, and I just don't see a world where that skill set busts.

Either we win the lotto or a trade, yeah. But we also would have to hope that one of the teams in need of a PG don't win the lotto. Bulls, Suns, Pistons, rumor Wizards have heavily scouted him as well. Gotta hope a team that might consider a trade wins if we don't. Also yeah it would help if his camp helped steer him to us as rumored

He was tough to let go. I'd been trying for Middleton all year with various combos and knew what I had to do... Middleton is awesome though. You can build almost any style of team with him as a major piece. It allowed me to think of this upcoming summer much differently.

i can't even imagine what it would cost to move up form 7 or 8 to get to top 2 or wherever Lamelo probably goes.

The package would start with our 2021 unprotected 1st round pick and go on from there. Which should be an absolute no go from our side.

The Ringer updated their mock and big board. Has the Knicks taking Haliburton at #6. Prefer Hayes (#11 pick), but I am good with that.

Would be nice to have our choice and get one out of Hayes/Hali

We would really need for LaMelo to fall to 3 or 4 for a trade with us at 7 or 8 to work. There would also have to be someone on the board still that the team we're trading with could still like. The only team I can really think of would be the Warriors. Like I could see them really loving Deni and him still being on the board when we pick. Even if we jumped up to 3 or 4, I would still think it be tough to trade for him.

I wonder what it would cost to trade up to 14 or 15 if Cole falls that far?

Maybe we could move up by taking a contract? I have heard some deals like that tossed around. Could be good depending on the contract.

Maybe Knox? Think I would be ok giving up Knox if we can get a pick or move up for the right player.

I agree. It makes no sense. I don't think they know what they're taking about.

It's considered a weak draft and teams will be hurting for cap space. It might not cost as much as you think

If Cole’s drop is real then the Knicks are taking Haliburton unless we move up

if Perrin is running the draft he hasn't been afraid to take euro players in the draft. I would absolutely not rule out Killian Hayes.

I would understand if the past regime was still here maybe there apprehension...but we have completely new decision makers and they shouldn't let any past concerns cloud them from picking the best player.

If they have done the scouting and believe Haliburton is truly the best option I will be 100% on board.

It throws a whole new dynamic with Perrin coming on. Because he is a draft guru that has extensive knowledge and has done extensive research on this class. I wonder how much leverage Rose is going to give Perrin in making our picks?

Yea, I think he had that before too. A lot of those comparisons end up being way off though

I just see much different games. Hali takes a lot more 3's (5.5 vs 1.5)....SGA was more aggressive going to the hoop, shooting off the dribble, finishing and has more wiggle. SGA was the much better creator off the dribble, Hali was the better 3 point shooter.

I still like Hali, just dont see him being a 19ppg+ scorer or agressive attacking like SGA. Thats not his game.

I think the public perception of where Hayes is going and where he actually goes is way off.

Macri said he believes if the knicks land a top 4 pick in the lottery he would be shocked if it wasnt Ball, Edwards, or Hayes in the top 4.
