Some inside info?

I'd rather they just release him after this year. :D

Kind of inside… there’s a certain center on the Pacers we like…

Scores efficiently
Can play make
Can lead

All the things we lack he does. He’s a perfect fit for the team rn before we trade for a #1

I legit cannot believe ppl think oubre derozan ball are better players or value as free agents.

Ppl will scoff at paying Fournier 20m but chase down lonzo for 15? What? So he can sit around and watch randle iso? Lonzo doesn’t do anything we actually need. Playmaking, breaking defenses, pnr, shot creation, iso, from the pg position

I’d take Derozan over Fournier for that same money 11/10..
Why? DeRozan can't space the floor

He’s still a great mid range shooter, gets to the line and creates way more

I would love to see us get Fox and Hield. Well, Fox - and would accept Hield as the cost of playing. Assuming it would cost us Mitch, Obi and at least 3 #1 picks, we could sign Holmes and run
Holmes/Gibson/Simms
Randle/X
RJ/Bullock/Grimes
Hield/IQ/Grimes
Fox/IQ/Deuce

I'd also love to see us trade for Grant. If we trade for Grant (Detroit) - say Knox and 2 #1s - I feel we are already having an interesting off season. Maybe we sign Ball maybe we resign Rose. Maybe we sign Holmes.

Holmes/Mitch
Randle/Obi
Grant/Bullock/RJ/Grimes
RJ/IQ/Grimes
Ball (or Rose)/IQ/Deuce

That is a tough defensive starting five with a young 5 off the bench who can run you out of the building.

Mitch is gone folks. Throw in for the Lonzo sign and trade. Pelle gone. Team Noel is here and we have the backup Sims for the Jerichoholics out there

If Randle was on another team right now, 75% of the fanbase would be wary of adding his 20 million to the Knicks and violating the sanctity of their cap space.

Luckily, we already have him, so we don't have to act such a way.

Then again, Randle is about to get paid more....

GODDAMN! We need to trade Randle ASAP!

Trade Randle and use $15m to re-sign Portis.

Someone call Brock Aller. He'd know how to get it done.

Good thinking. Definitely a diamond in the rough sitting in Westchester. Think Shane Falco from The Replacements only it’s basketball not football

Shane Falco from The Replacements or Tav Falco's Panther Burns?

I mean, they saved that $2.3m in the draft and you could cut Luca, so it really comes out to be about $9.6m - which is essentially the MLE. And you get a guy who shot 47% from 3pt and the superwichtigenkulturelleneffekte of having a player who know hows to be an NBA champion and without whom Giannis wouldn't have won a ring.

Somebody about to get overpaid, we targeting Holmes, or we really like Simms or someone else. Hopefully it’s overpay for Lowry, sick of not having leadership at the PG position.

Pelle was cover for injured players. Contributed nothing. Thanks for the effort, etc, but sayonara. Taj is a mortal lock to be one of the back up centers. Finding a third is child's play/not relevant. Only if Mitch gets traded do the Knicks have to find a C. And I hear Deandre Jordan is available again.

Schroeder for 1+1 deal - 2020 salary 25 m; 2021 salary 20m Team Option.
Fournier or Lonzo - 2020 salary 25 m; 2021 - 13 m; 2022 - 20 m; 2023 - 21 m
Trade Mitch for someone (because will be able to pay only 48 mill over 4 yrs). Somebody will easily top that offer and Knicks will have to let him go for nothing. Sorry to see his tenure end.

So 25 + 25 is 50 mill. That’s the cap space of the Knicks this season.

Use over the cap to retain, Bullock, Taj, Rose and Burks.

Make the playoffs!

PG Schroeder-Rose-McBride
SG RJ-Quickley-Burks
SF Lonzo/Fournier-Bullock-Grimes
PF Randle-Obi
C Mitch-Taj

I am assuming Randle and Obi will be on the floor together at times.
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

No way. Drafting a guy at 19 means you have to carry that contract on the books and risk the player being overpaid.
Outside of pick 32, trading 19 was best move Knicks made all draft night. Other 3 moves sucked.

the salary of the 19th pick is very little (~2.7M), I'm sure they could fit that

2.7 million? That's an outrage.

The team cut Norvelle Pelle to save some $ and I, for one, am proud of them.

I'm just mad they drafted Grimes and McBride. Especially McBride. They already shelling out for IQ and Harper. WTF.

I'm still working on the joke: but it's something along the lines of:

"Jim Dolan is so jealous of Elon Musk that he drafted himself his own Grimes McBride."

One year of Mitch or three years of Moses Brown? Moses doesn't block 3pt attempts, but he has at least some low post game.

I'm pretty hyped to watch a Moses/KP front-court - could be the lowest weight for height front-court ever assembled in the NBA - including whatever Manute Bol was part of.

neither of those fluctuations are permissible under the CBA.

Later you list Mitch in the team

So 25 + 25 is 50 mill.

Racist

Mitch will still average 7.4 fouls/36mins, so I assume you are assuming correctly. Maybe that team makes the playoffs. Really needs Fournier to perform - but that's not unreasonable to hope for. Gentleman's sweep in the first round again. And it's about as bland a squad as one could contrive.

We dont need Peele anymore. He is 28 years old. He will not improve.

We would not make him the backup Center. And I think we will bring Taj back to be the third Center. We need a reserve Center younger than Taj and better than Pelle.
