I must say, I don't think I'm over it. I'm ready for the season to begin and I'm ready to see the Knicks become a great team, but there is an empty feeling in me that I know wouldn't be there if we had kept Lin. I also absolutely hate the talk of, "Our PG situation is much better now with Felton, Kidd, Prigioni than with Lin/Davis/Bibby." SO WHAT? If Lin stayed we would've had Lin/Kidd/Prigioni. We were going to improve over last year at the PG spot no matter what.

I'm ready for the season though, and I'll follow the Knicks just as hardcore as I ever have, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be checking in with Houston and seeing if Lin lives up to the hype. I hope he does.

I haven't been this unexcited for a Knick season in forever. Dolan zapped my excitement away.

This is where I am at. The loss of Lin the player still stings, and I will always wish him the best. I'm over it though. At the end of the day, I am a Knick fan, and I will support the players actually on the roster.

That being said, it has left a mark. It's not so much that the difference between Felton and Lin is the difference between winning a ring and not winning a ring. It's that this was a blatant example of Dolan putting something, whether it be finances or personal feelings, over basketball decisions. It is something that is systemic when it comes to this franchise, and something that will always be an obstacle to us winning it all.

We could have had this exact roster with Jeremy Lin on the team.

This is really fair. Wish more posters were like this.

But that's the thing. The fact that we won't go all out for a title is why I'm not over it. Dolan basically put a ceiling over us.

He's put a handicap on us for sure, but I don't know if I would call it a ceiling. Grunnie has done a lot with very little resources, and has honestly impressed me with some of his creativity. He also seems to hold a certain sway and has a clear plan.

Will it be enough to overcome Dolan? Time will tell. Will this be the GM that Dolan trusts?

The loss of Lin does not handicap us. Thats silly. Lin would get no PT with both Kidd and Feltin here. If we happen to win alot games, according to people here it will be despite Lin as opposed to th
is team just being good.

Lin is not a savior. Saved our season but not the difference maker to winning a chip.

This is not true

Lin would still probably see 20-30 mins a game between both guard spots

Jeremy Lin was like a gift for our overcapped asses. We should have kept him to maintain talent.

If Woody is vet centric how would he get minutes over Felton and Kidd.

Fury i will never argue against keeping an asset. But the loss of lin and a gain of Felton is a net zero. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villan. Lin did not last long enough to be hated like the rest of this Knick team.

This is a good problem to have, and it would get sorted out during the regular season.

He's gotten an lot of hate in less than one year.

Agreed, and would have been so much better with Lin. I really don't like to discuss it because it just pisses me off, honestly.

wow...

he would have been a fine additional piece, who would of started over Kidd or Felton. there wouldnt have been a need for both. im glad youve moved on, but give the people the right to grieve without making up utter non-sense to derail the obvious. that it was a bad decision.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Apparently a lot of you Lin fans don't seem to understand that the missing piece in our championship run was a fat point guard coming of a crap year. Also the rest of the nba has it wrong in always trying to get younger and will not be able to keep up with officially the oldest team of all time. Durant and Westbrook must be praying for an early exitat the hands of the Lakers.

Ok I will leave the subject. Its player over logo over here.

It would just be a shame if the Knicks start winning and this thread is still on page 1.

If it was player over logo we would be happy Lin is no longer on Dolan's team.

Its cause this was a terrible move for the Knicks and the Knicks future that so many are disappointed. This team is headed in the wrong direction again which is why so many are bitching about this.
