Says they have a willing third team, with a fourth needed to absorb a contract that the Knicks nor Rockets would accept. Probably one of the Blazers boys, Leonard most likely.

No deal was imminent Wednesday, but the Knicks and Rockets are confident that they have a willing third-team trade partner incorporated into the framework, the sources said.

The fourth team was needed to move a particular player contract that neither the Knicks nor Rockets could or would accept in the deal, league sources said.

def sounds like the NYK, HOU, POR side is completed. Now who there wants Myers Leonard :lol:

This is one of the better proposals I have seen. I don't think Houston wants to give up Ariza, but I think someone could add a first rounder to Brooklyn to make it work.

agreed, Myers Leonard should not be the reason this kind of a deal doesn't go through.

edit* NM. No one is close.

Houston has alot of non guaranteed contracts they can use. The biggest deal here is the Nets wanted Crabbe last year but not sure if they want him this year. The other issue is Portland has a surplus of bigs with Nurkic, Collins, Leonard, Im sure they want to unload Leonard in any deal

I wonder what Houston will have to give up for someone to take Leonard and if we would be better off taking the contract for a future asset

Maybe they are dangling the german prospect...that wouldn't be enough for me. I would just rather take on an expiring or two year deal that the team getting Leonard wants to swap for.

Too lazy to do the math. Are the proposed deals assuming Melo waived his trade kicker or is it included?

I guess a roundabout way of asking if some of this delay is because Melo wants every last $.

unless I'm mistaken, he's waived it for Houston, Cleveland and heard someone here say that Detroit had been added to the list.
