I wouldn’t trade KP for Brown, unless it came with next years Sacramento pick. I’m just weary a 7’3 guy will return 100% from a torn ACL. It’s not anything about his play.

I mean, Kawhi's injury might be degenerative, which means we'd have a limited window to work with him

So if we take Bamba and are gonna trade KP, I'd rather it be for a younger player to grow with Frank/Bamba, who are both projects

Is there really a chance it’s degenerative? That would change my intrigue. I love Bamba, but don’t like the FIT long term with KP. We saw how the finals played out. You think Boston would trade Tatum for KP?

Maybe

KP can do everything Tatum does for them offensively (just by way of Tatum will be the 3rd option behind Kyrie/Hayward, so they're not really losing anything there), and adds elite shot blocking, plus Horford is the perfect big to play next to him

I agree with the fit sentiment, too

And from what I've heard, it is degenerative, so that's one of the reasons I've been anti trading KP for him, cause KP is injury prone too, but players recover from ACLs all the time

I actually think Bamba isn't really a project in terms of what he can provide now. The project part is the offense, which I think is further along than people realize - he was not a good offensive player his senior year in HS, and now he's picking and popping / hitting spot up threes, albeit at a low %, at Texas. I know that opinion isn't a common one, but it's part of why I have him and Luka as my only tier 1 guys.

A key reason I love the idea of Bamba is because we already have Frank. Having the best players in the league defensively in the backcourt and frontcourt is the beginnings of nightmare problems for other clubs. We've seen Frank singlehandedly prevent teams from setting up their halfcourt sets at times and when that starts to happen more regularly they make rushed decisions with the ball which will feed right into Bamba.

I think of KP as primarily a weakside help defender whose primary defensive asset besides blocking is his ability to recover on a play and catch you from behind. But Bamba looks to me like he could become THE dominant defensive big man in the league. And that gets me hot and bothered. That he can also already do some things on offense is like gravy for now

Can Bamba guard the perimeter because we would get destroyed there

kp for tatum

who says no?

If they traded up to #4 (without giving up Frank), I'd do it.

Frank
THJ
Tatum
Parsons
Bamba

That's a pretty enticing starting 5 minus Parsons

parsons and tim hardaway will lead us to another lottery pick

then we can do this

frank
timmy
nassir little
tatum
bamba

You've watched him more than I have, and you have access to Synergy, so I'll take your word for it

I do think he has potential to be the best in this class end of the day, but I'm just saying I don't think we should trade KP for Kawhi if we draft Bamba, it should be someone more aligned with Bamba and Frank's timeline

tatum will be the 2nd or 1st option on the celtics team very soon. hayward is most likely taking a step back on that team cause of his injury.

im doin the trade cause KP is always injury prone and tatum got legit super star potential

I would do It because I don’t trust KP’s knee at all at 7’3.

It can be degenerative, but the other issue is it's an injury that becomes progressively more prone to flare-ups whenever the affected area receives an impactful blow. So this strange phenomenon of calcification within muscle tissue can die down with rest, but can come back with a vengeance if the area is aggravated again. Kahwi may be saddled with a chronic condition then that will flare up multiple times the rest of his career as there is no apparent one and done treatment or surgery to make it go away

So pretty much no chance unless THJ has a career year, we move Lee, LFT, and stretch Noah
