I disagree heavily. Honestly, his 36th ppg ranking is good, but what's also interesting is that people are pretty adamant that he is not a hall of fame player, and that speaks to a disconnect as to how valuable DeRozan is. I think there's also a huge reason for that. He's a good scorer. Not a great one. He's not a good shooter and not a good defender. He doesn't make anyone better, not Lavine, not Vuc, not Aldridge, not Lowry. He couldn't even garner respect from Lebron when he was trying to recruit people to LA.

He has a history of failing in the playoffs, and that's a huge problem too. Like yes, we wouldn't need to rely on Randle as much if we had DeRozan, but the problem is that teams are perfectly willing to let DeRozan chuck in the playoffs because he chokes. I'd rather get a guy who empowers Brunson more.

Honestly, I think DeRozan and Randle are too similar. They like their midrangers, they need defensive backup, they need guys to clear the paint. From my POV, I see two options to empowering and maximizing Randle. One is to get more 3&D guys, especially at center, and see if that makes things easier for him as a 2nd option. Those guys are just so damn expensive, though. The second is to get a real star, and then hope Randle can go back to his bubble play, with great shooting and defense.

But yea, I don't respect DeMar as a playoff guy. 21 ppg, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 41.8% FG, 21.4% Three, +/- average of -53 over 7 playoff appearances or -373 total...that's horrible, and I think it's getting into the space where we can't claim sample size as credibly anymore. Don't want to bring up Julius' numbers, but his +/- is not as gruesome as DeRozan's, if that helps.

derozan also had a bunch of big time games in the playoffs too. he led a team to the ECF before. he's not a #1 option but leading a team to the ECF is pretty significant, is it not?

also derozan said he was actually going to the lakers. bron wanted him there. something happened last minute they couldn't get him anymore.

i'll take a 21 PPG guy in the post season over paying guys like Fournier, DDV and Josh hart. that's all it really comes down to and it's a no brainer.

I think in the end, what we basically have is a disagreement on basketball philosophy. I see really bad efficiency more than anything. It’s true DeRozan has had some big games on the playoff stage but when I see that, and then I see how low his field goal percentage and three point percentage are, it also makes me realize that he must have had many many more awful games to skew his averages that badly.

I hope the Knicks get someone much better than DeRozan. I think the one thing that Kawhi trade exposed is just how massive that gap between Kawhi and DeMar actually is.

MJ's son is dating Uncle Scottie's ex-wife!

Son, come here. Daddy would like to ask you a mofo question. I understand that you've been dating Uncle Scottie's ex-wife. Is this true? It is??? Well, let Daddy pull out a couple of brewskies from the fridge and you can tell me all about her, son. :)

kawhi is great but you're also forgetting they got rid of dwayne casey who's one of the worst coaches in the league and replaced him with nick nurse whos a top 5 coach. and they also traded for marc gasol that year too.

but i agree i hope the knicks get someone much better than derozan. its looking like we won't though. if anything we are probably getting someone worse since none of the stars have asked out and probably won't.

Grant Williams last 10 games:

6 PPG, 34% FG, 31% 3PT, 2-7 FTA

Dallas I believe also gave up a fully unprotected pick swap to SA in 2030 which will prob turn out to be Wemby 2.0 once Luka realizes he should leave

Love watching the Kings (Fox/Monk/Lyles) take down the warriors

Seems like a good time for us to call and trade for Klay

Klay has been terrible and wants like $30-40 mill a season.

You want an old shooter that bad just trade scraps for Bogdanovic.

The kings are a great team. They are putting it together this year. I think they’re a top team.

Knicks have defense and want offense. Bucks have offense and need defense. What's the Middleton deal that makes the most sense for Knicks fans? I dont think the Bucks would actually trade him but who knows?

Yeah they are. Check this:

Their defense is suffocating. Can we name another team that has a C/PF combo with this kind of length and mobility? :noway:

Middleton's numbers are down this season and he is always getting hurt. He's also owed 66m over the next two years and he's clearly on the decline. I'd avoid him like the plague, Barrett is a way better player than him.

The mid season tournament has gone off better than expected. I think that they need to do away with the point differential system though, Brooklyn, Minnesota and Orlando went 3-1 in group play and got eliminated due to points. That kinda sucks, that means the teams' with more potent offenses are heavily favored. Minnesota is legit probably the best overall team in the league and they're not in the knock out round? That's a horrible look
