Small minority? Gimme the total count lol

Nobody that has an issue with Brown here has given any substantive explanation as to why. I’m not his advocate by any means, but I’m not reading any legitimate reasons.

Thibs on the other hand has a laundry list of issues that have been listed ad nauseam. The FO fired him for a reason. Players spoke out against him for a reason. We went thru the worst loss in our history because of him. List goes on and on and on..

I’m honestly good with anybody but Thibs, I got what I wanted

Thibs has had more success in the modern nba than Mike brown has. Mike brown hates defense. He refused to play Keon Ellis and let him rot on the bench which kings fans hated. The kings offense went down the drain when brown’s assistant left for the nets. There’s just not much to be excited about, no matter how much you hate thibs.

Modern NBA? Considering Brown has only coached 2.5 seasons in like the past 10 years that’s not saying much. Also, Brown is known for his defense… his personnel just can’t deliver. As far as Ellis goes, he played him 20 mpg this season… he got bumped up 7 mpg more after Brown left. Hardly letting him rot on the bench by comparison.

I’m not saying to get excited about him, I’m just saying that:

1: Thibs has a far worse reputation around the league
2: Any of these current candidates are an improvement
3: Brown doesn’t have anywhere near as bad a coaching resume as you’re saying

But again, he’s not my first or second choice, but considering he’s done about as good as one can do with what he’s had to work with, along with working under great coaches like Pop, Kerr, and Carlisle, I wouldn’t mind giving him a chance. Especially if they hire another top candidate as an associate head coach next to him.

Whoever we get, once people realize just how much Thibs was standing in the way of our guys reaching their full potential, there will be plenty to be excited about.

I’m willing to bet that if we get Mike brown, we aren’t getting further than we did with thibs.

I look at it like he cost us the first title in my lifetime. I don’t hate him tho, I just didn’t want him coaching this team anymore for all the reasons mentioned throughout the season.

Reminder. It took 7 games for OKC to beat a team worse than us in the second round. Reminder. It took 7 games and an Achilles tear for OKC to beat a team worse than us in the finals.

OKC are not an all time great team. They are very beatable and we can certainly beat them. All we need is a coach that suits our roster.

That team has room to grow and assets to continue building it.

That doesn’t even make sense. I hate to admit it but the pacers were clearly better than us. I thought OKC was going to sweep them but they took them to 7 and actually might’ve even won the chip without hali’s injury. So the pacers taking them to 7 actually makes thibs look even better.

I'm not necessarily a fan of Brown..I prefer to give Bryant a chance and get him some strong assistants.

But last year was our year..
The stars aligned for us. Our entire roster was healthy while the top seeded Eastern teams went down with major injuries in the playoffs .

All we had to do was get past the fraudulent Pacers.

I don't think our path will be so opportunistic this season... But either way, whatever coach we get is truly going to be an upgrade.

it should be an easier path. both the celtics and the pacers aren't contenders for the year. orlando and atl got better but they're not at that level.

Last rumor I heard was we were going to interview Borrego over the weekend. Then nothing. I don't even know if we interviewed him yet. 3.5 interviews in a month? Ridiculous.

CLE had the #1 record last year and they had some bad injury luck in playoffs. If they are healthy they certainly are good.

ORL will be good as well.

It won't be a cake walk but we should be right up there in terms of the favorites.

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart

i think the knicks should be the favorite to come out of the east. the cavs might have a better record but i don't think anyone really believes in them.

Talent wise we should be near the top but, we don't have a HC or a bench yet. Other teams are making moves to improve and we're out here signing Jordan Clarkson. :o

The Knicks' interest in hiring Mike Brown as their new coach has indeed intensified, league sources say.

One scenario that has emerged: New York installing James Borrego as top assistant if he Brown is the ultimate choice.

Mike Brown AND Borrego seems pretty solid.

Return to New York Knicks
