The players the Pirates are getting back include right-handed pitchers Miguel Yajure and Roansy Contreras, infielder Maikel Escotto and outfielder Canaan Smith.

Any of these guys any good? The only name I recognize is Roansy Contreras

All four guys have ML ceilings, some even higher, but they're all young and with a high degree of variance.

The Yankees farm system doesn't have the big names at the top of it, but it is INSANELY deep so it's a nice return for PIT.

They're just trying to clear his money so they can bring in FAs/trade with it and still be under the LT.

They're basically saying they'd rather spend his salary on someone else.

Brian Cashman loves Brett Gardner more than he ever loved Jeter and Bernie. What GM would trade one of their players to their rival team in order to clear cap room for a washed up left fielder?

Schilling misses the Hall by 16 votes. Maybe he could blame Dominion for this election result as well.

He is a lot better than Ottavino and the Yankees signed him for peanuts.

Welp we got Kluber, hope he can stay healthy. Looks like some of our starters will be bullpen guys.

I thought this was reported 10, 11 days ago.

Or did they just finalize the contract?

Cole
Kluber (?)
Taillon (?)
Montgomery - another injury risk

Who is the next pitcher?
Delvi? can't pitch a whole year, though I guess there won't be 162 games anyway.
Clarke?
German - is he allowed back yet?
I guess it gets sorted out in spring training

Yea it's pretty much finalized. I think German gets the 5th starter and we can always use a 6th guy for spot starts. I think Delvi comes out the bullpen and then eventually a starter. Same with Sevy.

I find it funny that NOW it's okay for Cashman to come out and bash Gary in the media and gets to keep his job.

Girardi does it and gets fired for it.
