this Miami team looks like the toughest one i've seen in the bubble play-offs...they just have this tough swagger about them...

Yeah, you can also give the 3 year extension but you have to make up the money he lost for the seasons he wasn't extended. Since he is coming off his second year, he needs to be reimbursed for the difference between the salary he played under and what he would have made if extended after year 1. At least that is my understanding. I'm pretty sure it's right.

The trade I just sent to Bish is honestly moreso about the picks involved than the players. The players are roughly equal value in my head, but I would rather have a 2022 pick than a current pick at a similar range.
