A non sexy target: PJ Washington. Part of my weird obsession with bigs who shoot above 35% from 3 & avg at least 1 BPG.

Send CHA Noel since they desperately need a C. Let PJ be our back up C

This guy ain’t Fkin worth it.. stand down Rose

Can we please stay away from another contract year guy. I know we shouldn’t pick and choose because we have no point guard but he’s a free agent anyway.

We should talk to CHA anyway about sending them Kemba for Ish & Carey/Thor. Maybe we could sneak a Nerlens-Washington swap in there while we're at it?

That + getting some assets for Burks would give us plenty of capspace for Brunson in the summer, even if we can't flip Evan for an expiring.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

That depends on the playoffs doesn’t it….

If the Knicks want Brunson, they got to have the money first and then hope the Leon Rose connection works out. Also maybe Brunson chooses NY over the Mavs.

Why not? Free agency is weak for a year or so , plus when was the last big free agent signing in Dallas?
Just re-sign your good talent and work trades if you’re Dallas

The Knicks should not trade for Brunson unless it's truly a trade they can't refuse. Also, they should not sign him in the Summer. The reason is simple -- either get a true starting point guard talent or nothing -- don't go for an unproven, stop-gap measure like Brunson.

One name to keep an eye on: Bradley Beal.

He fits Randle's timeline and the attributes of the prototypical Scott Perry/James Dolan star.

With the Wizards going absolutely nowhere, and him becoming a free agent this summer, Washington might be open to trading him for young players or draft capital so to get more value in return for him than they would via a sign-and-trade this summer.

I would pass personally, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Knicks traded Fournier, Kemba, Obi and a pick for Beal.

They can have IQ instead of Obi. Not that I see that being enough. Or Obi being enough.

I'd hate the trade less if IQ was in it instead of Obi.

I see this going the other way around and we send Randle, Noel, Burks for their youth and expiring contracts. Maybe a 1st round pick if we're very lucky. Rui, Deni, Bryant and Kuzma.

I would love to see the spacing issues of that first line-up. Just utter chaos, on the court and on these boards.

Probably both and a few picks. I would rather keep Grimes then either.

Overall would much prefer to go youth heavy and rebuild but doubt that happens.

What if it was Randle?

Randle is a 4 who plays "wing like". I guess most 4's are wings now.
Very good teams need two really good wings; I'm including PG as a wing.

If you get Beal for Randle, it's still counting on RJ to emerge as the other wing, but maybe Obi gets a chance to become that guy - enough of an option at the 4.

Oh whatever. I can't believe I'm talking about Beal. Which means it probably happens in some way.

Just for sh*ts and grins, lets put together the super Kenf*cky/WWW/Leon/Thibs Special, where Randle stays because Kenf*cky, Brunson arrives because of Leon, and WWW brings in his guy Beal. This can be after the season, where some players come at this deadline, others in the FA etc time.

Brunson/Rose
Beal/Grimes
RJ/Cam
Randle/?
Mitch/Noel

Eh. It's probably a 45 win team, right? Like legit 7th seed?

I was actually thinking about this earlier.

I think this is team is first-round or second-round fodder. The pieces fit reasonably well, but that squad doesn't have much upside.

On paper, it looks like a mid-2000s squad of (as a general impression):

TJ Ford
Arenas
Stackhouse
Odom
Camby

Beal would be an upgrade over Randle. Guess it depends what else we have to include and what we have left. We would still need a best player on a championship type or at least a top 15 type guy if we are looking at building a contender. Better then what we have, but just as far away since we are still missing that #1 guy. And then we are probably capped out and missing picks. Maybe if we make enough noise someone would want to come (but nobody else is coming in reality).

Wouldnt be the direction I want, but Beal is probably better then some of the other options, like overpaying more Fourniers and Randles…but we would probably overpay even more for Beal so it ends up being bad too
