I wouldn't mind that at all. Brown is really known for his defense...and Borrego would install a modern offense.

OKC are not an all time great team. They are very beatable and we can certainly beat them. All we need is a coach that suits our roster.

That doesn’t even make sense. I hate to admit it but the pacers were clearly better than us. I thought OKC was going to sweep them but they took them to 7 and actually might’ve even won the chip without hali’s injury. So the pacers taking them to 7 actually makes thibs look even better.

Brown and Borrego is a solid combo. Borrego has that modern feel to him to offset Brown's old school feel to him.

I still maintain that Brown's Kings stint is impressive when you consider the personnel of that team. Brunson and KAT have a much higher ceiling than Fox and Sabonis did and we have much better defensive personnel around them than the Kings did.

Would be a good hire. And I think not deviating too far from the Thibs ethos, but getting a new voice is one of the smarter ways to go about this hire.

One of the biggest mistakes the 90's Knicks made was trying to go the complete opposite direction of Riley after he left. The team basically wasted a season with Nelson because they wanted something completely different.

Marc Stein
The Knicks' interest in hiring Mike Brown as their new coach has indeed intensified, league sources say.

One scenario that has emerged: New York installing James Borrego as top assistant if he Brown is the ultimate choice.

Are you really blaming thibs for our players choking the game away? Is Thibs the one missing free throws?

Brown and Borrego would be cool with me. Hearing Brown coming in for 2nd interview today is interesting. Was there ever a report on how Borrego interview went? Did it even happen? Is Jenkins getting a second interview? What about Staley and Kidd?

According to league sources... Enough with this nonsense. How would other teams know what the Knicks are thinking in this instance? As soon as read that sentence I know the report is clearly speculation.

some of the best advice....just wrap it up

let's get this coaching search done, looks like they've zeroed in on Mike Brown (good choice), now go get the best assistants possible; Borrego would be great start. get the staff in place before summer league so they can build a rapport w/ Kolek, Dadiet, Huk, Nnaji, Diawara, McCullar, Watson. we need a couple of those guys to pop and provide decent minutes this season

Is thibs the one playing lazy defense? Do you not remember OG getting mad at KAT? Is that thibs fault? Be fr

Blaming thibs for the players choking is nasty work.

lol he had a very talented team. There’s a reason why he was also fired the very next season and had a losing record.

Anyone here who is happy with this coaching ‘search’ and the hiring of as mediocre retread coach really should reevaluate themselves and should not be allowed to complain about the team again.

We managed to get a worse version of Thibs after interviewing 4 guys - 2 of whom in Brown and Borrego who are journeyman retread coaches. This coaching search was an insult to our intelligence and one of the most poorly thought out initiatives I’ve ever seen from any franchise in any sport. It’s pure comedy - and you remember why this team hasn’t been relevant pre-Brunson. Because of James Dolan.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The Knicks path could possibly be a little easier with the Celtics being..... different..

But the one factor guys are forgetting is the Knicks had perfect health... Og and Mitch both healthy at the same time during the playoffs? That was a miracle...

If we have any injuries, we will need elite coaching to stand a chance

Mike Brown n Borrego duo leading us to a chip and you’ll like it. I trust they won’t allow some role player to hit six open 3pointers in the finals few mins in the ECF to rob us of a title. They’re not deers in the headlights when it comes to in game adjustments.
