Never seen a group of people who are so tortured because they always jump the gun keep jumping the gun over and over and over again.

I'm more on your side with regards to this than the other side, but there is a different aspect to the reaction towards their picks. Ainge, ownership, and the whole fanbase actually, has been self-righteous about how amazing their stash of picks are, and hinting both directly and indirectly that no one understands enough to make a proper valuation of their immense value.

You'd think for all the hype we have heard about the Boston war chest, including this year's Untradeable Ultra Valuable Future Superstar Brooklyn Pick™ that they'd get something a bit more obviously awesome than a project SF at #3 overall, and a guy that apparently isn't even coming over to the NBA right away with a mid 1st rounder.

It isn't funny/enjoyable to me because I think the players are definitely going to suck, it's funny because the Boston fanbase was painting these utopian landscapes of immediate star young players that were going to be popping up like weeds - they'd have so many that other teams would be sorry for passing and the Celtics would plunder the league further as they sold off their excess young talent at a premium, controlling the league for a decade.

So far they have a physically gifted 31% jumpshooter with an awful asst/TO ratio at a big D1 school, and a Euro stash. That's fun to me. If they both pan out it will suck, but right now it's really enjoyable watching the Celtics and the fans react to the returns in the moment.
