1- Philadelphia will take Russell or Mudiay wherever they end up picking 100%
2- Timberwolves will take Okafor or Towns whevever they end up picking 100%

Actually my hunch is that it is Flip Saunders who is the anonymous team executive that is saying that he is taking Porzingis over Okafor.

I'm not buying that.

Only team in the top 6 I can see taking Porzingis is ORL. Honestly, the guy needs a year to put on 20lbs to even think about playing PF in the NBA. He's not physically ready.

Some teams don't plan on competing next year. The Porzingis guy can definitely go top 3.

Name those teams.

I'm not saying Porzingis is not a top 6 player, or that he wont be drafted top 6, or 3 or whatever. I'm saying he is at least 1 year away from playing 20mpg effectively in the NBA.

Sixers, Minnesota, Phoenix, Utah, Indiana, Charlotte, Denver, Sacramento.

Teams that aren't free agent destinations have got to find that star guy through the draft. Porzingis has the athleticism and can stroke it. Someone will reach on him.

Minny already has a workable core. If there is a team that can swing for the fences with their pick, it's them. He can eventually slide in nicely to a starting lineup of Rubio / Wiggins / Shabazz / Porzingis / Pekovic or Dieng.

A lottery team can't think about fitting a guy into the core. BPA all day.

The Houston Rockets are in the WCF and their 2 top guys weren't drafted by them. BPA geta you a tradeable asset if need be.

If we don't get top 3 because of that stupid San Antonio win, I'm gonna be so pissed.

I'm nervous.

Will do a lot of deep breathing tonight definitely. This is probably the only time I do not want to see the Knicks logo. Until the last envelope is opened of course.

No GM that values his job will be willing to risk taking Porzingis in the top 3... thats a hangable offense if he doesnt pan out taking him that high when there are 4 or 5 better/surer prospects on the board

and the Towns bandwagon just got a little more good looking, thanks for the departure! May Towns success slowly strikes pain and frustration within you.

all seriousness, I like Mudiay a lot as well, but the lack of footage on him makes it very hard to scout him because of the pace of the CBA games are nothing like the NBA or even NCAA. I believe the hype however, he does everything good except shoot the ball from what I seen.

How many of us are left in Team Towns?

Probably because we have such a small chance of getting him the other guys are convincing themselves in favoring other prospects.

i'm still here
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

Melo is officially a PF! He's can't be getting brolic like that to play SF.

He looks that big because he's in the middle of lifting. He's probably just back to his normal 240-250 instead of the 230 he was at last year.

The Wolves are drafting Okafor #1 if they win the lottery, book it. KG is the perfect mentor to light a fire under Okafor's a$$ and get him to play to his potential. His offensive game in the front court meshes well with Deng's defense and rebounding in the front court as well. Plus Wiggins doesn't have to feel pressure to shoulder the entire load on offense. Essentially they would have turned Kevin Love into Andrew Wiggins and Jhalil Okafor, in back to back years. It's the right move to make both short term and long term from a talent acquisition and roster construction perspective, and it gets more fan interest in the team as well. This is the kind of move that will also start translating to on court success today as opposed to a year or two from now with Porzingis.

Agreed. It's like people talking themselves outta Blake Griffin when it was clear that he was the best player coming out that year.
The kid is 19 with such an advanced feel. In the pros he's gonna improve his deficiencies. I like KAT but I like what I've heard...the alleged jump shot and perimeter abilities. I don't know for certain that his skill set translates because I didn't seen it during his time in Kentucky. I don't know if he's a good as billed on defense because he had the luxury of playing with the best defensive big in college in WCS. He also was a foul magnet in his limited time. I'm not bashing him but if we pick first we should pick Okafor. More so than any other lotto team, we need a guy, a big guy that can be be an offensive focal point. But the truth is if we pick top four we are getting a good player. My guy though is Jah.

Towns really had like 2 months of solid play while Okafor played well all season. I hope we don't get the first pick because it will force Phil to take Towns. Okafor will become an all-star much quicker just because of the sheer fact that he can score points. People are so adamant that he won't improve his defense. Why? He's 19 years old, he just needs to get wit the right coaching staff.

I remember when people said Drummond didn't have a motor, that he was lazy blah blah blah. Look at him now, might be the 2nd best pick in that draft class.

I can't believe today is finally here!!!

Basketball Gods,

It's me beagleboss. One of many tortured Knicks fans. Please oh please let us get a top 3 pick. Towns, Okafor or Russell would be nice. That is all.
