i actually like that idea, we replace to guard with two bigmen, preferably Tyler..but as you basically said, he'll likely be gone

And as much of a bust JHill was/is for us, hes still 6'10, athletic, and can block shots...wouldnt be asked to do anything more.

Two Problems Though: Isnt Bill Walker an FA?
And would Hill/DAntoni be able to coexist with the whole "bad rookie" situation a while back?

Out of the candidates that are realistic for us I want one of these out of the options at #17 (Thompson, Brooks, Selby, Montiejunas, or Biyombo/Fredette if they miraculously drop). I don't want to hear anyone elses name called unless we are buying a LATE 1st or 2nd rounder. Darius Morris, Reggie Jackson, etc. are reaches at #17.

If we draft Kenny Faried I'ma be sick!

Why is Reggie Jackson a reach? I have him right with Brooks and Selby. Him getting hurt, or getting a guarantee, has lost his buzz but the guy was getting hyped right around our pick a couple weeks ago. The only question with him really is if hes a PG, but by watching him and everything Ive read he has solid PG skills and instincts. 7 foot wingspan, athletic, and can shoot/defend. Doesnt seem like a reach at all.

Otherwise I agree with your post 100%. Those are my main targets.

I just don't ever see RJ projected anywhere before mid-20s. If that's the case why not draft another guy at #17 and attempt to purchase another pick for RJ?

Last year apparently the Knicks were big fans of Mccamey until he withdrew, a year later, he didnt seem to help himself any help by staying in college, wonder if that interest is still their..

What we think of Toney, isnt neccesarily what other teams think of Toney, in another teams eyes hes just a 10ppg undersized scorer, while us as Knick fans know what hes really capable when hes on

So, I honestly dont see it getting much better than Jordan Hill, maybe an old vet, Kurt Thomas maybe, Ryan Hollins probably...dont see it getting much better than that..

douglas would not net us the sorta big that we'd need. at best you trade him for a pick in our neighborhood and get the big there. personally, I'd prefer if the knicks stock up on backcourt players.

be it selby, jimmer, brooks, or klay, and shumpert. we need an athletic blackout to keep up with the current crop of perimeter players.

imo, selby and shumpert have the most upside, even though I'd go with brooks before either.

I'd draft selby or brooks and trade douglas for a pick to draft shumpert.

I'm not taking a big in the first unless its donatas.

i think we'd be in an enviable position if we somehow got donatas and selby.

Draft a Selby/Shumpert backcourt and I'd be straight. They compliment eachother perfectly and Shumpert's size would alleviate my concerns with Selby being an undersized SG. Shumper also has the size, athleticism, and physicality to really bother guards like Wade and Rose defensively. Both Shumpert/Selby have the tools to matchup with any backcourt defensively and athletically. Sadly, I just don't see it happening. The Knicks never do what they should. Knowing us we'll draft Faried/DMorris.

Cool.. Norris Cole is interesting, Vucevic too. When are we going to workout Keith Benson and Iman Shumpert? Would love to draft Benson as a second round pick we can maybe buy. Believe he could be a major player for us in 2012, possible center rotation or starting. Dude is slim but is strong with a nice array of offensive moves. Brooks @ #17, Selby @ #24, Benson @ #35 (the Kings need the money), Smith @ #45. Get it done DONNIE/Whoever!!!

Yea tomorrow's workouts should be good. Harrellson (as an undrafted FA), McCamey, Cole, and Vucevic are all very intriguing players. I don't know anything about Thomas except for the stuff they said about him at the combine and absolutely nothing about Flowers.

As for your scenario...I'm all for that. However, I'd take JaJuan Johnson (definitely) and Tyler (probably) over over Benson and Smith.

I'll take Benson because he's a better defender and rebounder and bigger than Johnson, JJ is cool but he's a straight PF though, Benson can play 4 or 5. I believe Benson game is still growing. Like Tyler over all of them but I think he's going first round.

Benson rebounds and protects the rim as good as or better than anyone in this draft. Will be a great second round pickup for us. I could see him even starting for us in 2012 next to Stats. Enjoy

Yea, but it was the same day as Brooks, Jimmer, and Klay, so he got no press.

Apparently he gave it to Jimmer though

Benson measured one inch taller and three pounds lighter, so I wouldn't be using size as a major determining factor.

I like Benson over JaJuan because of his defensive play, moreso than anything else, but I'd be very happy if we managed to pick up either.
