Weren’t some people pretty high on this guy

His name wasn't mentioned much on this forum, I don't know much about him but he must be awful if he's 6'7 with a 7'1 wingspan and nobody wants him. He's gotta be better than Matt Ryan though, right?

I think he's more the Toppin 2.0 replacement. Knicks had Obi's brother for a few years, figure he's maxed out as a prospect and either let him go to pursue other opportunities and/or want to take a flyer on another player. Or there is some kind of Aller contract madness buried deep within the CBA.

Once I saw they released two of the two way players, I figured one guy will replace Ryan, so that will be a vet for vet swap, and when they released Toppin, it had something to do with trying out a different prospect, for whatever reasoning they had behind that.

Now they can make the 3rd move for either center depth or whatever else they might want for bench depth, or whatever strategic planning around the margins of the roster they are making with next season in mind.

Yeah MarJon was who I had them taking in the top of the second round that year. They even brought him in for a solo workout. I don’t want to hype it up because he hasn’t been good but at least he fits the mold of a Thibs guy.

great add for the two-way. Useful big wing who can play some defense and shoot in MSG. The only problem is he doesn't get to face Thibs defense...

Tommy Beer
@TommyBeer
Moses Brown was dominant in his first game back with the Westchester Knicks this afternoon, finishing with:
28 points (on 9-of-13 shooting)
21 rebounds
4 steals
2 blocks

Absolute idiocy he hasn't been brought up yet....I get this doesnt always convert to NBA but he played WELL on Dallas too!

How useful is he?

He was a rotation player for the team prior to Doc Rivers.
His numbers against the knicks are also probably better than his career. 54% fg, 61% from 3 point.

Moves his feet well on defense.

Has a little Lance Thomas in him.

For a 2-way that's good value.

We need to add Moses outright on the big league club.
Somehow need to drop Wright and add TJ

Knicks don't have a future 1st to offer - but if you could find a way to flip KAT for AD you should do it. It would probably have to be a more complicated KAT + Anunoby for Davis, with Anunoby going to a 3rd team, a pick or 2 going to Dallas, and some rotation pieces to New York.

But if you kept OG - Brunson-Bridges-Anunoby-Hart-Davis with the option to swap in McBride for additional ball handling or Robinson for additional rim protection - that's a huge upgrade.

Although the window to win with AD is smaller, the upside with AD is higher.
