Weren’t some people pretty high on this guy
His name wasn't mentioned much on this forum, I don't know much about him but he must be awful if he's 6'7 with a 7'1 wingspan and nobody wants him. He's gotta be better than Matt Ryan though, right?

I think he's more the Toppin 2.0 replacement. Knicks had Obi's brother for a few years, figure he's maxed out as a prospect and either let him go to pursue other opportunities and/or want to take a flyer on another player. Or there is some kind of Aller contract madness buried deep within the CBA.
Once I saw they released two of the two way players, I figured one guy will replace Ryan, so that will be a vet for vet swap, and when they released Toppin, it had something to do with trying out a different prospect, for whatever reasoning they had behind that.
Now they can make the 3rd move for either center depth or whatever else they might want for bench depth, or whatever strategic planning around the margins of the roster they are making with next season in mind.

great add for the two-way. Useful big wing who can play some defense and shoot in MSG. The only problem is he doesn't get to face Thibs defense...

We need to find some diamonds in then rough because we have very little flexibility moving forward.
