Since Pelicans is in the business for asking teams for promises, we can promise to sit AD out most of or all of the rest of this season. To promise them a top 5 pick by having the worst record (since the lowest we could fall is 5 having the worst record).

we're gonna give up the youth and lose a max spot. not sure that's smart. limits our ability to build around them.

Oh that’s facts. I was just trying to paint out a positive image. I still prefer to wait until summer before deciding to trade for him. What pick we have. Who we could keep in a deal. And would like to do it after we sign our top targets. Just makes sense.

its funny though that barnes gets an expiring and a young player and we needed to trade timmy + 1st round pick

i guess it just means we didn't have a player Vlade wanted...what a sus move for the kings.

Everyone saying the Mavs don’t have enough cap space this summer for a max, they do. Go to hoopshype to check out the salaries, they only have like 50 mill guaranteed plus cap holds for roster spots. Crazy

Everyone knew the Kings were going to make a move like this given their cap situation. It was pretty much going to be Gallo or Barnes going there. Guess they didn't want Gallo and it makes sense even though he's the better player, Barnes is the better fit.

If Enes Kanter/Knicks are serious about a buyout, then unfortunately we might not trade for AD before the deadline. Kanter would probably have to be the main salary piece
