If we draft a big, it'll signal a Mitch or Obi departure. Let's play attention to this move as a prelude.
In any event Kai's game has me

They would be crazy to completely trade out of this draft. Maybe if anything they move down a few spots and get future picks (like the Trae/Luka trade).
If the price is Wall + bunch of future picks I would do that but I dont think Houston would be interested.
Yeah maybe HOU and TOR can work something out. A lot of people think TOR wanted Mobley bad where he may not be there at #4.
Maybe HOU is more than happy with Green/Suggs whoever slips to 4 and picks up an extra 1st round pick to do it.

Playing at a controlled pace =/= Being slow. Cade has blown by / defended many guys much smaller than him all season. Also he's a better athlete than Luka. Even then, Players w/ Advanced Skills that are average athletes by NBA standards > Uber Athletes 10/10 times.
I agree, however he averaged 3.5 assists to 4.0 turnovers a game. This is bad and doesn’t strike me as advanced skills and Luka would never post these awful numbers running the point against poor competition no matter how bad his teammates allegedly are. He’s not as athletic as Ben Simmons either he is a very below the rim type player. And he doesn’t have Luka’s craftiness he relies on strength and bully ball which I don’t think will work as well at this level. He can shoot which is a big positive but I don’t think it’s going to be elite at it
There are not too many points in this post that are accurate about Cade.
1. If you watched him at all, he's extremely crafty.
2. The Big 12 was the best conference in college basketball. Hardly 'poor competition'
3. He was the best player in the best conference in basketball, and broke quite a few records as a freshman
4. Ben Simmons is not a horrible comparison. Imagine if Ben could shoot like Cade. That would be one hell of a player.
5. He's not 'below the rim'. He can and has dunked on a lot of people. He does all kinds of windmills and other crazy dunks
6. He's WAY more athletic than Luka
7. He's a great rebounder
8. Elite vision
9. Could develop into an elite defender in time. He has what it takes to get there
10. Basketball IQ is off the charts, similar to Luka
You're insane if you think he's going to be a bust. He's the best player in a loaded draft, and the best player among 3 other potential franchise players at the top of the draft. I'm guessing you didn't watch much OSU bball this past year. He was a man among boys.
For those who have not seen Cade play that much, watch this short highlight reel of his game against OU where he puts up 40. This was probably his best game in college, but he had so many it's hard to choose which one is best.

Will just need Træ Young aka Sheriff Coop to lob them up

You'd have to think it starts with taking Wall off their hands. And then getting a good player back. Which the Knicks don't have to offer, sadly. At least not a player any team would really want or part with a #2 pick for.
I'd assume this is a dangle to teams like the Blazers maybe to accelerate a rebuild or some team with a good wing - you know, the kind of player that actually wins stuff in the NBA but the Knicks never really have.
You don't think an Obi, 2 firsts and absorbing $$$ Wall package, won't get us in the conversation with Houston?

Maybe offensively but defensively is very different since Wood plays zero defense

Dont ruin Randle's career like Melo send him to a contender

any of you remember that Knicks fan who was a physical therapist and gave breakdowns on why KP's knees were likely injury prone?
I see the same inward collapsing knee/hip physiology when I watch kai jones and even more so with neemias queta. makes me wonder if either will hold up to the nba grind. and good lord it is a grind.

If Træ wins a chip with Hawks before Pelicans does that mean I have to resign

mpharris36 wrote:3toheadmelo wrote:Been watching Kai Jones recently and he is pretty nice. Like his fit with Randle
he has a lot of physical tools. Would take a lot of time with development but he's one of the big upside guys in the draft.
I think he didn't start playing organized basketball until he was 15. So basically he is just going of instincts and athleticism right now but there is a lot of potential.
My guess though the Knicks would select Isaiah Jackson from Kenucky (obvious connections) over Kai Jones, Rim running big with elite shot blocking and ability to guard on the perimeter. Kinda a souped up Noel.

The ringer has Kai going in the lottery but if Jackson and Kai are on the board for us, I’d hope the brain trust would see Kai’s jumper and go in that direction instead. Much rather not have to pray for a big to develop a jumper instead of someone with one already. Thibs and the gang know how important that shot is nowadays.

Yes and you’ll have to trade Trae young to me for Troy brown jr
