Seems like several teams are leaking interest in various names, so feel like a trade in the NBA is upcoming somewhere, very soon.

Not a big prediction based on what time of year it is, but I see teams like the Kings and Jazz mentioning interest in Sabonis, Jazz interested in Barnes, multiple teams in Grant, and I feel like a couple of PF types go on the move as teams have the interest but put different names out to show they can't be leveraged too much with who they are dealing with, they might have other options.

Just a thought.

Randle would help Utah, Boston, Denver, LAL, Portland among many others, there just isn’t anything they could AND would offer for him.

I have a bad feeling its the Lakers leaking this Randle Fox thing and its a 3 teamer where we get Brodie and not Fox...

That’s probably the best option anyway. Russ is the most exciting player we’ve had since Melo and once that contract is up, we’re reset and ready to go.

Westbrook
RJ
Cam
Obi
Mitch

I mean, they don’t win less than this team, probably a lot more imo. The reset is inevitable anyway and once Westbrook’s contract is up, we’re good to go.

That's not exactly KP-will-be-traded-to-the-Mavs level buzztrodamusing.

But if you looked into the crystal ball and all you saw were PF-shaped clouds I guess we'll have to be happy with it. Obviously I'm considering Julius as a small-ball 5, so he's not in frame ...

What are you talking about?

Graham
Hart
Ingram
Randle
Zion

It’s not like they would need to worry about their frontline then.

:D Indeed.

Just a lot of PF types coming up in the rumors, multiple teams indicating a willingness to move. I guess it's always the case. Just seems like there some interest and need both ways in multiple instances and some posturing going on, and then the first domino will fall and kick off a bunch of trades

They let Randle walk once and Zion isn’t a Center.
And I doubt they wanna do business with us when we have RJ & Cam enticing Zion already.

Also, again. Why would they give up assets for Randle? He does nothing for that team to improve them to playoff status.
They want a star PG or SG to go with Ingram & Zion. They’re not desperate.

This is a terrible trade for the Blazers. Lillard's gone.

So Portland literally tears it all down. Great value and great overall deal for Clippers.

Having read about the Mitchell Gobert discord, what about these 2 trades (they seem to work)
NY sends Mitch Robinson, Fournier, NOel, and Burks to Utah for Gobert
then
NY sends Randle and Walker to Sac for D'aron Fox and Barnes.

Leaves us with
Fox Rose
Grimes IQ
RJ Barnes
Obi Barnes
Gobert

Think that's a decent 2nd round team? Would Utah and Sac consider it? :)

I don't see it that way. Portland values Simmons higher thatn Powell now and they are looking to extend him. Having Lillard, CJ, Simmons and Powell longterm is redundant and makes no sense. Bledsoe will be expiring next season so I think they are looking at a 3 guard rotation of Lillard, CJ and Simmons longterm. This actually signals to me that they may keep Lillard.

Keep in mind that Powell was signed for 4-5 more years at around 19 million---having 4 small guards on big contracts when two of them are 35minutes guys just makes no sense. They'll have Bledsoe as insurance for next season and will use his expiring to improve or just expire and cut down on salary....the deal makes sense for Portland....at the same time they will be worse this season and gain a higher draft pick....smart move in my opinion. Not a sexy move, but a smart move.
