Wright in place of Deuce early because of foul trouble may have been forced early, BUT that doesn’t explain Shamet playing double digit minutes out of nowhere and it doesn’t explain Wright playing in the 4th when foul trouble wasn’t a concern anymore either

finch lost in the conference finals in 5 games to an underdog 5 seed last year and got out coached by Jason Kidd so I don’t see what’s so great about him

Well he did take his team to back to back conference finals.

Twolves fans can’t stand Finch, the usual fan/coach relationship. Another case of grass isn’t greener.

I dont care what anyone says- thibs is not the guy to take this group to their full potential; even if we grid out a chip this year...
on edit: and im not anti thibs. if you cant see that thibs had to real plan vs fire marshall bill and this pacer team - I cant help you...

This is kinda contradictory. I mean, I agree we could be coached better but, grinding out a championship is all that matters in the end.

I don't care if we keep dragging our series out and winning ugly the rest of the way. I just don't see that being realistic either. Which should be a signal that Thibs isn't the guy but, they extended him so...

I'm staying focused on tomorrow though. Knicks in six is my destination. Streaking to the finals will be glorious!!!

grinding out chips is not sustanable. You cant grind out a dynasty. why not go for a dynasty if the potential is there?
Thibs is a mess- he is exactly what his face looks like...As much as I dislike fire marshalll bill- if he had this team - we would be the favorite
to win it all AND we would have had a better regular season record and play off record.

Agreed but, it's been 52 years. This city will forget about everything if we win a chip. It is the entire point of all of this. Getting a second one is not relevant right now. Getting the first one ugly wouldn't matter to anyone. Especially Dolan. He'll most likely get another shot if we did. He could most likely be here even if we lose this series.

I agree he isn't the best but, a title in NYC will catapult is legend to elite.

It’s okay to be fine with last night, more than fine, but we should be up and G1 was a disaster on his watch

The Mavs weren't a real underdog 5 seed. After the P.J. and Gafford trade they had the highest or 2nd highest winning percentage in the west. Most had them as a dark horse because they knew their seed wasn't reflecting of their level of play at playoff time.

I'm agreeing with your point that about not being sustainable. Which is why I don't think we can even win a chip the way we've been playing. If we do however... It's all that really matters. Let's see how this series ends first. I'm not concerned with next season right now. I'm not concerned with Thibs getting fired right now. You can't get more out of a team than a championship. Maybe they get there quicker but, winning it all is getting the best out of your team basically. Even if it looks ugly.

Well Boston gentleman swept them in the finals and it wasnt a particularly a close series at all. I think the wolves were talented enough to win that series and the coaching was poor

Now they’re back because Steph got hurt

The Bulls fired Thibs and have not been out of the 1st round since. What is the guarantee the next coach will be much better than Thibs?

Nothing is guaranteed. I'm worried about tomorrow. Thibs will be our coach the rest of this season so...I don't really care about it anymore. The players are getting us where we are regardless of Thibs or because of him. I really don't care right now. It's not in my control anyway. I don't like his methods but, I'm rooting for the team to win ECF games for the first time in 25 years. He's part of the team. Let's fuggin go!

there are no guarantees in life. Thibs has been a coach all his life but he doesnt have a plan for a team that runs and is inferior to us defensively. He has able players yet only uses a 7 man rotation. I could go on and on...but we shouldnt look to improve because we cant guarantee the results of the next coach?

Every fanbase complains about the same things with their coach and different problems we are not aware of. If you are putting all the blame on Thibs and none on the players, even the players themselves are defending him.

One of my favorite parts of this playoffs is we dont have to hear about how amazing Mazzula, Atkinson and Redick are for a while

If you've followed my posts over the years, you would know that I dont complain about coaches much...I love Thibs and respect him. However, this group in context is one of the best I've seen since the 90's and Thibs hasnt even caught up to the pace of modern basketball. Unless, he willing to do a 180 and hire an offensive coach- this group will never grow.

When you want to accomplish GREAT things you dont worry about what everyone else is doing. Especially, if you've been in our shoes for the last 25 years. Dolan finally did a 180 and its worked out well for him. Thibs still has a chance but if he doesn't its time to put the emotions aside and continue to make the hard decisions.
