That would be a great lineup, with Shved off the bench for guard penetration. Since SAS may target Aldridge over Gasol, would that give us more chance to get Gasolina?

no. as they are probably in part not targeting him because they think it might be a waste of time. it would have no bearing on our chances. what we need is SAS to not steak LMA from us if he's interested in leaving POR.

This, and also they are stuck with Splitter at C (12M per) so it'd make more sense they sign a star PF instead of C

I'm not advocating Turner over Porzingis, I don't know Porzingis enough. But if you gave Matt Bonner Myles' length and shot blocking, he'd be pretty valuable imo. A stretch big that's a certified rim protector is pretty useful.

A good decent role player, sure. Porzingis is better in every way outside of his jumper and athleticism.

Just to clarify, not comparing the two, I don't know Porzingis nearly enough. Just saying that there's a shot blocking, stretch big that's slipped under the radar in light of the other C's being mentioned (Okafor, Towns, Porzingis and Kaminsky). If we were to go third, pick up Mudiay/Russell and get back into the first round...Turner has a chance to slip and give us rim protection and shot blocking...I kinda doubt he slips far though. That jumper is going to make him valuable and he's got the shot blocking ability and length to have an effective career. I'd say good role player is a fair projection but there's more upside thanks to the kid being so tall and yet such a pure shooter.

yes,

if 2 of the (twolves, knicks, or sixers) fall out of the lottery.

And the lakers aren't in the top 3. They would give there lottery pick to the sixers.

So basically if 2 teams jump them (for example orlando and sacremento in the lottery) and only one of the top 3 teams get in. The lakers would be 6th and give that pick to the Sixers.

Karl-Anthony Towns could end up with the New York Knicks depending on how the NBA draft lottery goes on Tuesday.

Towns, 19, grew up watching the Knicks.

“I’ve always been a Knicks fan,” Towns said. “I never was able to afford passes to the games. We were able to afford cable and got the MSG channel so I could watch every Knick game. It made me more of a fan because I could watch every big game.

“My best friend was a Nets fan so it made for a cool rivalry. My favorite player for the Knicks is a tie between Walt Frazier and Patrick Ewing, but I liked Patrick Ewing a lot. But I’ve never been to a Knicks game. I could never afford to go there.”

Towns averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in just 21.1 minutes per game for a deep Kentucky team that advanced to the 2015 Final Four.

“It would be an honor and a privilege to play for the Knicks organization,” Towns said. “But wherever the chips fall, the chips fall. I just can’t wait to play basketball at the next level.”

Hearing Bilas talk up Russell on ESPN as the best pure basketball player in the draft almost makes me want to take him over Okafor. 6.5 hours to go...

Dangelo russells are not a rare commodity. I bet there will be another Dangelo Russell in next year's draft. Okafor is a big man with an advanced offensive skill set at age 19. You'd be hard pressed if you find that any time soon.

It's my thought too. Then we argue over DRuss and Mudiay (and possibly OK4 if Sixers are in Top 2) for a month.

Had to step away for a bit. But back to Okafor, people don't even realize that by continuing to bring up how he played defense in spurts, or can improve his effort via conditioning, or being coached up, we'll that just proves my very point about not being enamored with his mental makeup.
