Damn! I guess the Okafor drafting was a good idea after all. Sucks that we will miss out on a great talent like Embiid at his best.

i think pjax is playing a longer game here, sacrificing something to build NY as a desirable destination for FA

But he still could have done that and had an extra 3 mil

well,not with vet min.
what he could have done was to split the room exception equally between the two of them, same gesture, but save enough that can make a difference for some players

I wonder if the Knicks are keeping that last slot open if the French center performs above expectations, or even the other Euro.

Honestly, Ledo and Shved seem to fill the same function, in theory, of big guard who can swing to SF, with some potential left. Obviously Shved has realized more of that potential.

And i want them to resign Shved, but that would be the 15th roster spot. It wouldn't be a bad move, just makes you think Knicks may be waiting to see how their own summer league invites do, or even grab a guy, not signed, from another teams summer league squad.

Or, I guess they could sign Shved and if someone good appears, drop Ledo, only out $ then.

if they had waited and used the 3 mil on another FA and then used the room exception to resign shved, than they would still be able to off lou and lance the vet min which they probably would have taken

yes i realize that.
my point was to build an environment where people want to come here, and offering Lance and Uncle Lou more than the minimum would be a step in that direction, at a relatively small price.
if he offered them the vet min, they would possibly have come, but it would not send the signal that "this is a good place where you want to come" to better players who might be available in the future

I'm thinking they're keeping the last slot open in case Hackett impresses in his workout. No to Bynum. We've got a good thing going with no idiots on our roster. Lets keep it that way. Besides Bynum's busy getting prank called by Dwight Howard

Even resigning them to the vet min would still show that they care about culture however talent entices more and with 3 mil in extra space they could have gotten a better talent

Would anyone be game to trade for Doug McDermott aka McBuckets? He would be great in the triangle imo and could really round out this team.

I hope we sign Shved(Russian Contract), but If not him who else... a small maybe list of others, looking for a third point/combo guard/forward.. think we are pretty set at C, PF and SF..

John Jenkins (24).. Jumpshot
Seth Curry (25)... Mr.Buckets, good jumpshot
Kendall Marshall (24).. Good passer/ball handler
Vander Blue (23)...Defense, all-around combo
Malcolm Lee (24)... Defensive Combo
K.J. McDaniels (22).Defense and great athleticism
Elliot Williams (26)..All-Around Combo, NBA Experience. 6'5 Point, good length.

If no Shved we can sign someone to a mini and still have excep. Open

Also vet option: Andre Miller, Jameer Nelson, Luke Ridour, Bed Gordon. . Vet SF...Rasual Butler, Chris Copeland, Francisco Garcia, John Solmons, Jason Richardson....

Rather us go younger backcourt player..

What do we have to trade to Chicago that they would want?

Return to New York Knicks
