maybe, but you gotta understand the kid is still a rookie. While I saw some nice things he still look extremely raw in a summer league game (silly passes). No denying his talent and defensive potential.
But I see Calderon starting, he is a vet and has earned that right. Until grant takes the job off of Merritt.

He’s not demonstrated the kind of leadership that you want. And you have a young kid named [Emmanuel] Mudiay coming in who I think has a chance to be a star in this league. Right now the best player on the team is Ty Lawson. As a young player in the league, you come in 19-20 years old, you oftentimes try to emulate some of the actions on the floor and off the floor of the best player because that’s one day what you want to be. So I think just from the standpoint of the welfare of Mudiay and the well-being and the growth of Mudiay, you have to get Ty Lawson and you have to move him along."

On the first day of free-agency, they locked up the 24-year-old by agreeing to a four-year, $40 million contract to keep their restricted free agent in Cleveland during the remaining years of LeBron James' prime.
Not everyone within the organization had faith a deal would be completed this soon. Shumpert was a highly-coveted asset, and that made the front office incredibly nervous, I was told.
Near last season's trade deadline six teams called, offering the Cavaliers a future first round pick in hopes of prying Shumpert away, to no avail, league sources informed NEOMG. Three of those six franchises had maximum cap space this summer, thus the reason why the Cavaliers were a little queasy about Shumpert's situation.

i agree. but if you could have got a 1st for him, you should have. after getting one for timmy, it shouldn't be surprising that we could have got one for him.

Yep, guess that value didnt go down after all. Maximizing assets is always the right way to go.

if you really analyze it fully, we gave up 3 1st round picks in shump & tyson and used the little extra cap space that calderon's contract gave us vs felton/jr on paying lance thomas & lou amundson.
