OT: The WWE Thread - Part 2

Post#1581 » by Butch718 » Wed Jan 6, 2016 8:08 am

Cena was an entertaining heel before he became mega babyface. He was also light years ahead of Reigns on the mic. He knew how to work a crowd back then, fans seem to forget that. His main problem is that his character stayed the same and got cornier and cornier over the years. Plus fans got sick of him squashing the momentum of other stars all in the name of keeping him on that pedestal.

Brock's presence alone is ratings. What does Reigns make off his presence? Part-time Brock as champion gave more quality storytelling because the chase is more better than the reign. Cena chasing the title was more entertaining than seeing him go Superman every night and his "Never Give Up" slogan when he is champion.

How awesome would it be if the last five people in the royal rumble were Reigns and the wyatt family!?! Id be so hype for Bray, but im sure they would still make Reigns win it all smh...

I heard WWE signed all of the TNA super star AJ Styles and three other top NJPW guys

AJ Styles
Shinsuke Nakamura
Doc Gallows
Karl Anderson

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/658355-major-update-wwe-reportedly-signs-aj-styles-and-three-other-top-njpw-stars#7F4sHUQETuWk1sRj.99

Expect them at Royal Rumble...One would hope.

This is a good move, also probably means Daniel Bryan is done

Styles' personality isn't WWE quality like it was in TNA. He's very athletic and crafty, but in a PG environment, he's not going to main event much.

So expect Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles?

Is he even going to be called AJ Styles? WWE changes these guys names up when they come over. Might as well name him Disco Stu

They'll put him in some matches with the top talent to see if he can connect to a different audience.

He's the best American worker of the past 15 years. He can adapt to any style and his gimmick has always been PG.

Never thought I'd see the day, especially Shinsuke Nakamura. I hope they just let him be himself and swag out.

NJPW will continue to own the rights to the name Bullet Club, so guess this is why they've been pushing hard with the Balor Club shirts & trademark.
PG WWE way of flipping things like they did with "Kill Steen Kill" into "Fight Owens Fight".

Balor will have a big year this year.

I would expect a lot of Clique/DX/NWO/Bullet Club interactions as well seeing how they love doing the 'suck it' & 'too sweet' taunts & seeing how WWE loves to overdo things.
Also expect Hideo Itami to join seeing how not everybody from the BC is coming over.

Like I said, War Games has to be coming back next year. Makes too much sense.

Anyway:

Preparing for the Rumble I think.
Think it's obvious that HHH will enter & screw Roman some way whether it's him winning the belt himself or he help somebody else get the belt.

I know I shouldn't be happy with an injury for a wrestler. And I do feel bad for Cena, the person. However…..

**** YEA! I hate his character, and I don't wanna see him anywhere near my screen as I watch wwe. I know I come off as a dick, but I am so sick of his stale corny lines, and his bright ass shirts. I actually do think that Cena does have some talent, but until he overhauls his character and reinvent himself, I'm gonna be a hater.

he picked the wrong time to get injured, if barret or cessaro wasnt hurt this could have been their chance to get elevated

It blows Cena is out. He made the mid card pretty exciting to watch. Rusev and Cena did a hell of a job elevating the U.S belt.

Pretty moronic decision by Vince and HHH to let Cena drop the belt to Del Rio. Not a fan of him at all. Think hes incredibly boring. Cena shouldve lost the belt to someone like Neville.

Well he dropped the belt to a ADR feat. Zeb. That was a new look for ADR as a face. It couldve been cool. But then they threw together this half assed League of Nations crap and now we're back to stale heel ADR feat. US Title.
