I'm more on your side with regards to this than the other side, but there is a different aspect to the reaction towards their picks. Ainge, ownership, and the whole fanbase actually, has been self-righteous about how amazing their stash of picks are, and hinting both directly and indirectly that no one understands enough to make a proper valuation of their immense value.

You'd think for all the hype we have heard about the Boston war chest, including this year's Untradeable Ultra Valuable Future Superstar Brooklyn Pick™ that they'd get something a bit more obviously awesome than a project SF at #3 overall, and a guy that apparently isn't even coming over to the NBA right away with a mid 1st rounder.

It isn't funny/enjoyable to me because I think the players are definitely going to suck, it's funny because the Boston fanbase was painting these utopian landscapes of immediate star young players that were going to be popping up like weeds - they'd have so many that other teams would be sorry for passing and the Celtics would plunder the league further as they sold off their excess young talent at a premium, controlling the league for a decade.

So far they have a physically gifted 31% jumpshooter with an awful asst/TO ratio at a big D1 school, and a Euro stash. That's fun to me. If they both pan out it will suck, but right now it's really enjoyable watching the Celtics and the fans react to the returns in the moment.

Which players? The two they drafted? I've never seen them play but I'll wager you just for the fun of it one of them turns out better than you think.

But besides that.. these GM's are very much car salesman they have to talk up their assets and act as if they're untradeable ultra valuable future superstar picks.

And look at what they traded for those picks? You telling me it wasn't worth it.

See Knick fan is playing both sides of the fence. First it was HAHA Nets got raped in a trade.. now it's HAHA Celtics flopped today. That schit is flip-flopping to the hundredth degree and not a respectable trait.

No flip flopping, if Boston had chosen better players with their picks or pulled off a trade for a superstar with their resources then everybody would be admitting how good they have it and lamenting our luck in being in the same division.

Instead they took friggin Jaylen Brown and an unknown french big who is only 6'8

Have said Levert has lottery talent. They also said they think they finally found and fixed what the foot problem was that caused him to miss a lot of games. If true the Nets made the best pick they could have made here.

So Indy gave up a 1st for Teague? Glad Phil didn't jump on that
WTF Post of 2017:

If Phil pulled that off, I would put a put a paper bag over my head, paste a picture of Jeannie on it, poke a hole through the mouth, and give Phil the best BJ he's ever had in his entire life.[/quote]

turner/young/george/ellis/teague is a good starting lineup. i get why they decided to move on from vogel for that sort of team, though. **** man i was hoping the pacers were doomed to suck for another couple of years. having said that, i don't see them having much playoff success in the immediate future

So basically Ainge had his eye on one dwarfish guy who panned out well in the last however many years. Thank God for the Ray Allen trade. And even then he couldn't help himself, going and getting Jeff Green back.

 brillant!

Except chances are pretty good I reckon that he was on here saying "haha Nets gave up what could be the #1 pick for the ghost of Kevin Garnett".
