Vrabel seems like a good get with playoff experience. Similar mold to Saleh but actually has a track record of success as a HC.

Surprisingly proactive move by Woody (the worst owner in NY). Have to think that if they did this now they have a replacement in mind. I don't think Belichick will take it. Just doesn't seem right

I assume Ulbrich gets the season to play out. My dream hires are defensive minded guys (Flores or Tomlin) who are highly unlikely to get the next hiring...but who knows, maybe Ulbrich sparks something and this team lives up to the talent on the roster.

Hopefully it goes a way to addressing the 100+ yards per week in penalties we've been witnessing. I've never seen a team get their ass handed to them until the game script breaks and their QB starts freestyling.j4remi wrote:Fire Saleh, Promote Ulbrich, ask Rodgers if he really wants to try and carry Hackett through this season...hopefully fire Hackett too.
I've never seen a team consistently look worse on long rest than when they play on regular rest. But this is year three with the same patterns as every year prior regardless of personnel.
Woody Johnson and JD must have got my memo.
Is Hackett only safe because of Rodgers?

I imagine this is a douglas move to save his job.

He's a terrible head coach and deserved to be fired multiple seasons ago, but Saleh sporting the Lebanese flag in support of his roots last week makes me think the timing of this was all Woody.

Yes. The only reason he has a job

It's worse than that. He literally would not have a job in the league of Rodgers didn't come here.

Only two things have been as consistent as Saleh's teams being ill-prepared during this Jets stretch. One is Hackett being a predictable, bland OC who gets less out of his players than their talent. Two is Keith Carter's O-Lines regressing rather than improving.
Both those guys should have been canned right with Saleh, and I can't think of a reason they haven't been.

Re: The Official NY Jets Thread.
Not firing Hackett too means Rodger is running your team now. It’s just standard Woody Johnson procedure to put a washed, crazy person in charge of the organization. Just lines up with everything this guy believes in and it’s kinda funny.

Wow. To treat him like this is kinda messed up.
Last I checked Saleh didn't have 3 INTs on Sunday but I guess someone had to get chopped.

Wow. Woody has got to go. He has made a joke of this team for 25 years! 1998 was the last time we could have any kind of pride being a fan. We had two years of AFCCGs with Sanchez/Rex and even that was not without incident. This is disgusting.

It's messed up that they gave him the boot like that. But it honestly should have never come to this. The postgame this week felt like a clear sign he'd lost the locker room. His best defensive player this season called him out, the WR they spent two hours on the phones trading up for was posting cryptic stuff on instagram, and even his former players are getting in on the action. Saleh was really bad, and I have a feeling he went through the exact same motions yesterday that he has after every other game in his god forsaken tenure...which likely led to one or more voices ringing out that he's gotta go.
