What's the deal with ORL? 13-5 start to the season is a huge leap I didn't see coming. I don't see them ever. Anyone know he scoop with that team?

I still don't want him we don't need a mid range shooter. We need more spacing. But maybe players perceptions are finally changing bc of Jalen Brunshim
I think the interest is real. But Demar just isn't a good fit. Especially since it may cost more than Fournier to obtain him.
Mid range specialists at SG aren't conducive to winning in the modern game unless they are efficient at all three levels. Teams would dare DeMar to shoot while collapsing on Brunson on his paint attacks. No thanks
I don’t love the fit but I see him more of a SF , we do have multiple SG who can shoot on the roster

Yep. It was him the entire time.

So do you move RJ to SG?
Mitch
Randle
Derozan
RJ
Brunson
I don't like that fit defensively and I think that is going to hurt spacing. I know Grimes has been bad during this recent stretch but he is a threat to still hit threes and doesn't take the ball out of JB's hands.
I dunno. I think Derozan is a good player but I don't know if this is the move. Plus, giving up assets for an expiring contract isn't good either.

They're the 2nd best defensive club in the league right now, and all of those draft picks are starting to yield dividends. Paolo, The Wagner Boys, Suggs and Cole Anthony all have that dog in them.

Not a very experienced roster though. Is this sustainable as top 2 in the conference? That's some leap from last year.

I don't know honestly, as you said their core guys are all kids still basically (the older Wagner bro is 26). There's a lot of season left. But i absolutely see them being able to keep a playoff spot without falling into the play in. They compete hard and Paolo/Franz Wagner are a handful in the front court

Young team on the rise after 30 years in the tank. You love to see it.

I wonder how sustainable it is though.
It seems that their success is largely driven by their bench, not by their core players. Gary Harris and Jonathan Isaac lead the team with a +16.1 net rating. Third is Bitadze at +12.8. Ingles at +11.8. Then Mo Wagner at +5.3.
The starters including Banchero and Franz are between +3.0 and +4.3.
This pattern reminds me a bit of the 2020-21 Knicks. Completely different personnel, and the starters were definitely solid for both of these teams, but their bench is really what elevated them to unexpected levels.
They obviously have a lot more upside with Franz and Banchero than our old team though.

I just looked at their schedule. Not as impressive as the w/l record.

The bench analytics is fine and all, but real intrigue is whether Paolo (and Franz?) are about to become legit superstars.

So Suns with their second and third player out and Durant having a somewhat of an off game are worse than Nuggets with their second and third best player out and Jokic having a somewhat of an off game.
When they at full power, still easy Nuggets win, or no?

I think the weak schedule pretty much sums it up. It's definitely a scrappy team and wouldn't suprise me if they finished around .500, but they're not a top 3 team in the East.

Nuggets just have better chemistry still so I still take them at full strength. They started out hot this season when healthy so that's what I expect in the playoffs with both teams giving it their all. I just can't buy into Beal fitting in that well with the Suns yet. Come playoff time, it's gonna be your turn, my turn offense with their stars. The Nuggets will just be more efficient.

a lot of their draft picks are starting to pan out in defended roles, they’re very solid defensively and get after it. Franz has been amazing.. looking like he could very well be the best player from the 2021 draft

Trey Murphy Season Debut: 7-13 FG with 4 threes. Last year slashed 49/40/90 with a 65% TS. 6’9” Wing - this roster needs someone like him

25 out of the 30 teams need someone like him...that's why it is close to impossible to get them.....unfortunately...
