Jalen Brunson would not be here right now if he had Bronny's resume coming into the draft.
Jalen Brunson would not be here right now if his dad was not a Knicks insider.
I don't see how this is remotely the same. Brunson had to earn everything he got. He wasn't some bum that the Knicks signed as a charity case on Rick's behalf. Like he literally had to put in work in college and in Dallas to become who he is.
The Brunson thing should only be reference to, Knicks fans can't really say anything about nepotism because this entire org is nepotism and the only reason we're good is cause Brunson signed here which was 100% due to nepotism
I agree, Bronny on his own doesn't deserve to be on an NBA team right now, but neither did Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Keljin Blevins, Chris Smith, or I'm sure many other nepotism signings
I think it's being overblown a bit, cause let's be real, spending the 3rd to last pick in the draft on the son of one of your players to keep him happy and to create a cool moment isn't the biggest deal. It will be a problem if Bronny gets actual playing time and sucks and is preventing the Lakers from winning though.
