Maybe the Knicks can get Luka to play next to Brunson so Kidd can look impressive again.

He does well with two elite playmakers....so few coaches can unlock that....

I mean if you want Giannis KAT with him makes the most sense for spacing.

So OG and Mikal would have to be going out.

KAT buying his way to stay with gifts to the players. Chess not checkers

On a serious note, he is super likable. If he stays I really hope it works out

Monica McNutt kept it real. On ESPN today, she explained it from the perspective that the team had outgrown Thibs.

And yet the candidate pool for replacements seem to be a bunch of player development focused coaches. I don’t buy it - we’re hiring an established NBA coach or it was a big mistake.

What's wrong with a developmental coach? We are probably going to need some of the younger guys to contribute and wouldn't mind if KAT learned how to set a screen or if Brunson learned how to run a 2 man game or if OG learned how to dribble and chew gum or if Mikal learned how to fight over a screen again or if Hart or Mitch developed a single reliable skill outside of rebounding :D

But seriously if we keep this roster together we are going to need them to be better players than they have shown themselves to be this past season. With the limited assets the team has to improve they will need to find a way to squeeze every bit of juice out of the roster from making better use of the players together to individual improvements of the players. Thibs was an established coach and far from a developmental guy.

OG and Mikal aren't even all-stars !! so sounds surreal to be given Giannis...

How

As of last year...Mikal and OG were basically worth 7 1st round picks between each other.

The idea that the value has changed a lot since just 1 year has always been wild to me.

I supposed a 4-way trade where OG, Mikal (to MEM?), Mitch (to LAL?), and some picks (WAS 1st, swaps, 2nd rounders) go out and Giannis comes back here, leaving you with a big 3 of KAT, Giannis and Brunson. Then you hope guys like Hart and the rest of the minimum guys can fill in roles because there won't be much left to add more talent beyond that.
