true, and we are going to gut this team of some good talent.. believe that, and I mean three outof these four will be gone.... chandler, fields, AR, gallo.. we know, AR goes in a trade for a pick and it says Denver can pick between two of the other 3.. that is a lot... and when melo gets here, watch amare's 26ppg go down to 22ppg.. Melo is going to get his shots.. but hey, we need melo.. right? well I am on the fence here the more time passes and the better we play.. we will get melo, and if we struggle,I don't want to hear it.. I will have very little tolerance... :D

I truthfully think you feel this way cause your boy Gallo will be gone. the same Gallo that regressed this season IMO. Mello is a top 10 talent. You just can't pass up on that.

Hmmm are you a former banned poster? You are baiting one of the most popular posters on here....

2007: $4,694,041

2009: $14,410,581
2010: $15,779,912
2011: $17,149,243

That's how much money the Denver Nuggets have paid Carmelo Anthony: about $75.5 million. I found this information on the Internet, so it has to be true. Including endorsements, the 26-year-old Carmelo has easily passed the $100 million mark. His contract also allows a "player option" for next season worth $18,518,575 million. Guaranteed. This is not someone who should be making crucial career decisions based on money.

And yet, by accepting a long-rumored trade to New Jersey, he would be crapping on his legacy for a few extra bucks. It wouldn't be a normal crap, either; more like one of those "Dumb and Dumber" poops in which he nearly got blown off the bowl. After four months of behind-the-scenes posturing to become a Knick -- at the expense of Denver's season and his eight-year relationship with Nuggets fans, no less -- how could Anthony possibly settle for a 10-28 team in Jersey? Because it's near New York? Because it's almost like playing for the Knicks? Because they're moving to Brooklyn in two years? Because Jay-Z owns 1 percent more of the Nets than my dog does?

Alright....this Bill Simmons guy is starting to grow on me :D

lol the latest media PR campaign by the Nets to try to close the deal.

Even if the Nuggets are satisfied with the deal pieces and even if Melo will eventually go to the Nets, I doubt it happens this soon.

1. The Nuggets want that pick to be better and the Nets to be worse. Melo could help the Nets win one game they might not otherwise.

2. Melo views the Nets as a distant backup option. He'll want to make sure that the Knicks course is at an absolute end.

TKF, we are on the same page with Gallo.

But I want Melo taking Chandler's 16 shots a game. I want Melo taking Gallo's 16 shots a game.

Chandler and Gallo never command double teams

Melo does.

I'm convinced that getting Melo will open up the floor even more for us and will be more beneficial for us moving forward.

Is melo alone with 18 million? NOPE

But if you put Melo next to a real interior presence where we have both a wing and a post player who are unguardable 1 on 1 is a good thing. We're too heavily reliant on Felton to run our offense.

This team, without melo is way too reliant on Felton having a great night--- every night-- to win games. Melo will help us there.

Ironically the biggest winner in a Carmelo to the Nets trade would be LeBron.

Not for a second do I think the Heat would fear the Knicks w/Anthony (NY still has some holes namely on the interior), but they'd be very wary of what's creeping up on them from an organization that can attract free agents.

But the biggest way LeBron would win is he'd get a quick PR makeover. The subplot to CA to the Nets would be Carmelo would get killed by the basketball establishment for grabbing the money in his prime and putting winning second. He'd be unfavorably contrasted to peers like Kobe who is all about winning. LeBron's decision would even be hailed by the media as they would point to him and say, 'say what you will about LeBron he's all about winning. So much so that he left money on the table to ensure that he went into a situation where he could not lose".

Now I think Leon Rose is working for Leon Rose, but its the damdest thing that him pushing Anthony to the Nets works so perfectly for LeBron.

I think he views them as a "We'll see, you never know" option that he doesn't mind keeping in his back pocket. It gives him a way out of Denver and to the NY area with his $ if the Knicks can't happen, and it puts pressure on the Knicks. I think it's a last resort kind of thing.

I think he's torn. Sure he wants to win but what is he willing to give up to win? Compared to his contemporaries .ie Amare , Lebron, Wade he's giving up more to play for his ideal team. Either way his is all out of our control.

All we can do is keep winning, while the Nets continue to lose...

He's not giving up more. In fact, in the current scale, he would lose only $5 million total, spread out over four years, but he'd also have an extra guaranteed year. What the new scale will be is just speculation.

No? I thought those guys took marginal pay cuts while benefiting from Miami's lax tax rate.

I think Denver does want Chandler, but his RFA status is tricky Denver can match the offer sheet if they really want him to stay.

Really so if he sits out and become a FA that's all he would be forfeiting? I thought signing an extension gave him an extra year or something.
