Eh I don't think it really matters who plays with the backups, as long as it's someone. We saw melo going off in the 3rd quarter with the bench and then kp playing well with them too. Just as long as one of them is with the backups we should be good.

Bad way of looking at things. They hardly played cuz it was the damn Nets. The backups looked good cuz it was the Nets........backups. I'm not trying to ruin the win but not trying to use it to prove that anyone near the top of our depth chart should be bumped or could've been better off without.

Only the Nets arent scrubs at all his year. The backups look good because they are good and were finally given the opportunity to show their stuff in extended minutes. Meanwhile the dead weight (mainly LT) was finally relegated to the bench. This was the first game where we got solid play from our starters AND bench. The result was a near blowout win against a team that wont beat themselves. No minor accomplishment either way you look at it IMO.

I'm not saying anyone is an easy out but cmon, if we expect to turn this season around and there's still plenty of time to do so we gotta handle teams like this. I was just responding to his perception that this game proved we don't need Rose or Noah. Knicks fans are like crabs in a bucket some times. One good game and whoever spent more time on the bench becomes expendable. It was a team effort

I don't think he's underrated so much as he played way better on D than he ever has for us before. I reckon he's been practicing rotations and positioning. He moved with purpose on that end.

Yes. Willy is playing much better D for us now than he ever did for us last year.

Then it must really be a head-scratcher why Jeff does those KP-Melo-Rose-all-sitting-on-the-bench lineups on previous games...The backups guys need at least one of them ALWAYS.

Knicks seem pretty willing to not protet the rim and give up wide open 3's. Lucky we were playing the Nets today.

That's got to tighten up. We will have no problem scoring....we've got to be able to stop people...and when Net's bench players are splashing open shots without issue, that's not a good sign.

Someone get a hand up.

Not hard since he didn't play any D for us last year since he wasn't on the roster :D

Hopefully, Jeff learns from that. There was a substitution at the beginning of the 4th if I remember where KP was the only one sub out for Melo. I was thinking, wtf bring all them starters in now.
But Jeff had the sense that that lineup was doing wonder on the court, and he need only one potent scorer to sustain the momentum.

KP started the 2nd half cold but didn't let it phase him and finished really strong.

I think he was showing his wisdom by beink a wise guy.

His defense in preseason and overseas was weak.

I think horny did that for the past few games cause of the Houston game when he played a whole game with kp playing with the bench and he went 0-4. He probably felt it was a bad idea and wanted to try just playing the whole bench together. That was even a worse idea but glad he finally got it right today. I think he's just experimenting, trying to see what works and what doesn't.

0-4 or 4-4, KP is still one of our main gunners and you cant allow a lineup not to have one of the main scorers whoever they are.

Most game's if he starts out cold, he usually stays cold. Getting hot late in the game is a good sign for his improving stamina.

Agreed. He should've kept trying it but he finally got it right today. Hopefully he continues doing this or we're gonna keep losing games.
