This is the most frustrating aspect of all this.

I work in the front office of a professional sports team, specifically communications. You can't miss an exit meeting. Not only is it the time that front offices discuss the future of the player and review the year, but it's also a time for the player to air out their grievances. It would also be considered a mandatory team-related activity.

KP should have gone to the interview.

BUT...

Phil needs to handle his personnel better. His biggest problem is that he throws players under the bus in the media. This should have been handled behind closed doors, and the appropriate response would be, "This was a minor issue that we have worked out. In the end, we have one common goal and that is to bring a championship to NY."

But Phil's ego won't let him do that.

- Parker with 2 ACL tears in 3 years
- Maker, while good, is very raw
- your picks aren't valuable enough
- Monroe is meh

the only way Melo is gone is by buyout/release.

Phil is the old school "Well, I'll just take my business elsewhere!" guy when he encounters any resistance.

I'd say how we handled Marbury was at this level

And all the sexual harassment stuff.

Remember, "just get in the van"

The dysfunction is comparable but the moves by Phil are not

Keeping picks and, potentially, moving Kp for multiple young players and picks isn't like trading multiple unprotected picks for Eddie curry

agreed on all counts

But phils interview yesterday didn't give me the sense that we were active in looking for Kp trades

Just that his ego was hurt and we were accepting calls

I'm saying if Phil were fired, we would be in a better spot because of KP, not because of anything Phil did - Phil's crippling moves and half-assing tanks will **** whoever comes next, if it happens before the deals run out.

Yeah, we need to win games, but if players are not coming to the Knicks specifically because of Phil, that is an issue.

We would be in a better spot because of a player he drafted though. He gets credit for KP and whatever package he gets for him. People wanted Mudiay or Winslow so it was far from a slam dunk to draft him. He drafted KP, Willy, kept the picks, so he gets credit for that, period.

Yes it is, but that issue goes away once his contract expires, so it's not a franchise crippling problem. Besides there weren't many players coming anyway. If it means missing out on guys like Greg Monroe who cares

He gets no credit for keeping picks, because that's what GMs are supposed to do. KP was a guaranteed top 5 pick anyway, so no credit there. Willy he gets credit for.

I'm not talking about Monroe, I'm talking about the multiple reports saying that nobody wants to come to NY because of Phil.

Anyways, you and I don't see eye to eye on this (and that's ok). Agree to disagree, dude. :D

Yeah nothing wrong with a civil discussion without any personal attacks. I guess we'll see. Hopefully it works out. We as fans deserve that.

Oh I didn't know you had insider info.

Nobody knows wth is going to happen. You assume the worst because of your disdain for the player.
