Because he was a big in high school and played 2/3 in Kentucky. Not an easy transition. Lets be honest, how many 18 year olds take defense seriously? He is young enough and talented enough to be molded. Dont compare a 22 year old mikal with him. Compare the 18 year old , needed to red shirt mikal with him.

can we be real though, defense is a lot about instincts and IQ...that **** can't be learned. You either have it or you don't. Maybe they can make him passable on that end. But when has a poor defender turned into a good defender...I have my concerns

Kevin Knox isnt super athletic? I think Knox has pretty solid defensive potiental. PG had the same critics pre draft about his motor defensivly. Knox is long, and has a perfect NBA body, I think he can be great defensivly. Maybe not the play making part. Remember PG was drafted 10th OV, some mock drafts had him anywhere from 8-16

No, Knox is not super athletic
Whatever, he's pretty athletic in my opinion. Maybe not on the level of PG, but pre draft PG reminds me a bit of Knox. Also we dont have a true SF, so he'll have a lot of opportunities and I'm sure he'll have the green light most of the time. I think he surprises a lot like Mitchell.

Not even Tobias really.

Rudy Gay? :dontknow:

I see more James Posey

Super high ceiling? Don’t know why but his awkward movments that seem slow plus the way he shoots reminds me of Pierce if you squint and tilt your head sideways

I think they're praying MPJR falls to them but will gladly walk away with a smile on their face if they get Mikal.

Maybe they’re hoping somebody trades up and they get an asset while actually getting who they like.

Yeesh. Feels weird even pretending the Knicks could be that competent.

Calm down. He'll never average 10 rpg.

both miles and knox seem like tweeners who aren't quite tall enough to be 4s and not quite quick enough to be 3s (who in the modern nba have to basically be really tall guards). i don't get it.

can't tell if you're being sarcastic. He's already a good rebounder with a 7'4.5 wingspan

That should have no bearing on who they draft. Really concerned if it does. Last time I checked this a 5 on 5 game. Brandon Jennings could probably cook most of the Pgs in the league one on one, doesn’t mean anything.

knox measured 6'9 at the combine and he is pretty lengthy. He can play small ball 4 in the future

I think it was 3 on 3 but I get your point. Still it's amazing to me that miles is older, stronger and more athletic and he got outplayed by a gangly kid like knox. Maybe knox is more ready to handle nba physicality then we think.

He was at 9.1 rpg playing next to bagley and bagleys motor on the boards was through the roof.

No he's not. He is a mediocre rebounder relative to his height and length. And he does not have a 7'4.5" wingspan. His wingspan is 7ft. Where are you getting your info?

Things Perry should know:
Don’t draft a player based on a workout. See Darko.
Don’t draft the hometown guy just because. See Rodney White.
Don’t get caught up in the euro hype. See Herzonja.
Trading up can be a disaster and waste of assets. See Elf.

Definitely the most intriguing draft I can remember in recent history. I can see three or four trades in the top twenty, easily.

I know he did a 3 on 3 somewhere else, but I thought it was just him and Miles with the Knicks, might be wrong. (Why would their agents agree to that anyway)
Knox seems to have a good amount size of him though, especially at 18. I can see guys with his length bothering miles. I guess he finally showed up hard in the workout and the Knicks are hoping they can get that on a NBA floor? Why wasn’t that there in college game who knows though.

Oh my bad guys. I thought the rebounding and wingspan statements were in reference to Knox. Pardon me.
