KD’s agent a year ago tweeted “imma run the Knicks one day” :o

So the rumor about the Knicks offering him a job might be legit wow.

KD is also very close to Scott Perry as he was part of the team that drafted KD. Also close to Royal Ivey.

yeah but, Jackson was FALLING asleep during his meeting with free agent and by all reports his idea of wooing free agents was to take the lunch. Not Dinner.....no groups of stars or power brokers to impress, no Melo along with him to help woo free agents. His god damned Ego was so overgrown that he thought his Name alone would be enough.

Yes, Phil thought all he had to do was flash some rings and that would get it done. For a man with so much knowledge of the game itself, it was very disappointing how he conducted himself. When he was signed I knew it was Dolan starphucking all over again, but I still didn't expect Phil to be so unprofessional even while lacking in executive experience. At the end of the day, Phil was less Orange and Blue than many of us. He was a carpet bagging hustler who saw a chance for a fat check and he grifted Dolan and the Knicks community by getting paid without earning his paycheck.

So in other words they're going to play a Coming Home song for KD too during his first introduction

If we don't get KD - I hope the move is to sing Kyrie and go after Davis. Those 2 would be incredible together

What do you think a AD trade would look like if we started with our 2019 1, Mavs 2021 1, Knicks 2021 1 Mitch and DSJ -

what else would we need to add? Is it possible to keep Knox in this situation

I think it would be possible to keep Knox if the pick we traded is Zion.
Problem is, we’re going to be in a bidding war.
If Celtics decide to make Tatum available, we gotta go all out. Zion & Tatum’s value can go either way. Who knows what Pelicans would value more.

So KD and Kyrie and a outside chance at AD or KD and Kyrie and a top 4 pick plus future draft picks to add to it, or we keep the youth and trade for large/bad contracts that have picks attached and rebuild naturally.......

I can deal with any of those options. As long as they do not max out someone who doesn't deserve it

Durant's legacy is set on the floor side, MVP, finals MVP, multiple chip winner, one of the best scorers ever, HOFer but if he can come to NY and restore the Knicks to glory after decades when so many others have failed he would elevate his legacy into the the conversation for 'best ever' along with LeBron, Jordan, Wilt, Russell and whoever else people put in those conversations.

I don't think more chips in GSW does that, teaming up in LA with LeBron doesn't do it and really there aren't many other places that brings the attention to an accomplishment like this that NY does. He would be seen as taking the decades long dumpster fire Knicks to a title and that would literally get him a statue somewhere in NY!

How many two star teams in the east are there right now to prevent a path to the finals for a two star(KD and Kyrie) Knicks team? There aren't any right now! Celts?...Nope.... Raps? Nope..... Bucks? Nope.... only Sixers could be considered a two star team and are they going to stop the Knicks with KD, Kyrie? Nope. Those others would have to add another star to be one, most are one star with great supporting cast teams.

Does anyone really believe that KD and Kyrie aren't fully aware of this? They know the easiest path to the finals is in the east and they'd be in the drivers seat because Perry has set the table with youth, salary flexibility and more picks coming down the road not to mention a coach for all his warts is a beloved guy for some reason.

KP will be watching the Knicks in the playoffs and maybe the finals from his couch before he possibly even makes the playoffs in the west. BAHA
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

Good for you. I saw zero tweets posted here about him calling DSJr (ok, not 100% sure) but for sure, nothing around KP. If RR tweeted KP would go, it would have been all over this forum.

MSG should have traded his corny ass to Dallas with cornball KP. It could have even been for a country f*ck band to be named later and I wouldn't care.

I'm really curious what moves Perry has left. There are lots of things he COULD do, but given the desire to preserve as much cap as possible the only things he really WILL do is the conversion of current players into future assets, or maybe the exchange of one expiring for another simply to give the roster less toxicity for the next 3 months (i.e. the removal of Kanter).

Basically the only thing left for Perry to do besides somehow bringing in a max cat is to acquire future picks. (Which is awesome, for the record).
