I have to agree Breh. It would show politics exist for a stop gap and thats terrible.
Question.
Pacers are starting Oladipo and Brogdon or TJ Warren. If Payton starts and sucks he can get pulled no problem as we have Frank, DSJ, Quickley to fill in. It wouldn't hurt Payton's confidence and who here really thinks it matters long term.
But if Quickley starts and is getting burned (it may happen), does it affect his confidence if he gets pulled so early in his career.
The point guard position is tough as it is and these are not the Cavs. I say let him watch for the 1st quarter, have Johnnie Bryant and company in his ear, then release the young man in the 2nd quarter.
Now knowing Thibs, he may pulled Payton for Quickley quicker () than that since Coach comes from the Riley school and doesn't like to lose not 1 quarter.
it's not about him sucking or not, it's about the extra shooting threat in the lineup. it doesn't have to specifically be quickley, it's just that there's no other option. if rivers was healthy and they started him we wouldn't like it but at least it would make basketball sense still. this lineup doesn't. it didn't last year and it won't this year.
