I think that article is true for any team that is willing to pay Lonzo a contract starting at $18M+
That’s our special. Just add the player option on the last year

what happened last year, in reality, was that after fizdale was fired we competed at a different level and won more. we actually traded away one of our only good players in morris and we still won more. most of the fanbase wanted him fired but it wasn't really good for our draft position. it had very little to do with mo harkless or whatever name you want to put there.
So nothing to see here? Got it.
And the previous 2 out of 3 seasons? Also just pure coincidence that we won extra games at the end of the year while management pushed veterans over youth?
I attended two of those end of season wins sitting behind the Knicks bench, and I can tell you that Mike Miller was fighting for his job just like all those vet mercs were fighting for their next paycheck. Sorry, Sham, you are 100% incorrect.
If this franchise wanted Fox, Trey Young, or Lamelo at PG all they had to do was swallow their stupid pride for a month or two at the end of the season instead of fighting like hell to prove what exactly?
what's incorrect ? we won more with mike miller, that's a fact. fizdale wanted his job too, he just was no good at it. now you're changing the argument to talk about 3 years ago. fizdale got us the worst record 2 years ago, all we had to do was keep him all year. we didn't.

I thought you wanted Trent over starting IQ though
I want Lonzo over Trent, can't get them both IMO, would prefer the big PG in that case.
Lonzo is my top target this summer, we'd still have a hole at PG if we get Trent. I want Trent if we can't get Lonzo and we have to go into next season with Rose as our starting PG.
why?

This right here.
We may be able to get Lonzo at this deadline for two 2nd rounders or Knox/Payton. You gotta consider that and then extend the kid on a reasonable deal. I still think Lonzo has a few more levels he can get to with the right coach/system.
Then we target Trent/Norm on a 4-year deal at a reasonable rate. Would be exciting to be a top 4 team in the East with plenty of room to grow (picks, trade assets, good contracts, etc.).

That's too much money to spend on guys who aren't all-stars because both would require overpays for us to get, so you have to pick one or the other IMO.

Kinda weird metric to say someone’s bad, when Payton and Frank are also terrible at drawing fouls too. Payton draws 2.2 fouls a game and he drives a ton more than Lonzo. One more foul shot a game is nothing to brag about when your game is build around attacking the rim. Which Payton isn’t even good at either. Lonzo is a great shooter and puts up high volume 3 pointers at nearly 40%. That’s a much better fit with our two “stars” moving forward. Idk where you’re getting Lonzo’s a bad free throw shooter from cuz he’s shooting 77% on the year. Maybe that woulda made sense last year but he’s much improved across the board.
Lonzo is a horrible shooter. He is the Ben Wallace of point guards.
the stats don't support what you're saying though. he's 13th in the NBA in made 3s this year. and is making them 39% on 7 attempts a game. that is really good.
ben wallace was 4x all star 4x DPOY and won a championship, is this meant as an insult

How about Lonzo and Powell?

I like Powell, what are the chances the Raps let him go now though? Also, it's one or the other to me still, cause you want to preserve that caproom just in case LaVine does want to leave. And Lonzo fits with a scoring guard better than Powell, Trent or any non PG would.

That would be an amazing offseason.
