I think Lillard would cost too much, and rightfully so, but CJ would be an interesting get considering his age.

I also think if CJ's the focal point on offense, his game could seriously improve. Kind of similar to how Beal's game skyrocketed the moment Wall stopped playing for the Wizards.

CJ will be 30 next season... and we would have to give up an arm and a leg to get him...

Never change Knicks fans.

I aint gonna act like a bitch, Im proud of my team. Now next year if we pull some **** like this im throwing **** under the bus

This. Plus, having Mitch would've made a big difference.

Having him to hedge Trae, as well as slowing down the drives would've changed the whole series

Look how much Randle and RJ improved after a bad regular season when no one had any expectations.

If you don’t think are guys aren’t going to be locked in this summer and coming back stronger then you haven’t been watching.

This loss, might be better for their development in the long term

So many overreactions are going to happen in this thread lol

Yes, we were absolutely terrible and I expected more but I knew they had more talent and the best player in the series so this wasnt going to be easy. I am very disappointed in the lack of effort and lack of adjustments by Thibs and our players but at the end of the day, the Hawks are far more talented.

If you really expected Randle to be the same Randle that played in the regular season, well that's your fault for those false expectation. Randle is, AT BEST, as low tier 2nd option on a good playoff team. And I cant be mad at RJ because he isnt skilled enough yet but I know he is going to put in the work this summer, also he played pretty hard and never gave up or gave in mentally(like Randle did in game 4).

Thibs is who he is. A bunch of analysts had a great take on him; he can change a team's fortunes and get them out of the doldrums but he's not going to take you to a championship based off his antiquated style on offense. He's a great stopgap coach to right the ship and than bring in someone more offensively innovative to get you over the hump.

We've had 2 Playoff appearances over the previous 21 years.

Where the freak did LOSING ever get us?

Enough with this stupid tanking talk; it's gotten old.

I just realized I can't console myself with the whole "youth getting valuable playoff minutes" theory.

Doubtful Trae Young cares.

not about him caring or not. it's very very rare that a team/player doesn't dribble out the clock there and take the shot clock violation.

i can't even remember the last time I've seen it happen to be honest. sometimes it happens when both teams have their absolute end of bench players in there in a blowout.

came off as a very full of himself moment there where he wanted to do something else to silence the crowd. very immature.

Knicks crowd petty after game 2.

Trae Young petty.

That's how the cookie crumbled.

I'm just pointing it out. He had an easy opportunity to "be the bigger man" and showed his immaturity.

was glad to see everyone shake hands at the end though. knicks embarrassed themselves with the tough guy acts.

But Thibs ruined us.

SERIES was tied 1-1 and coming off a win.

And then Thibs destroyed us.

He made Derrick Rose a starter.

Which

A.) Ruined our starting 5's chemistry.
B.) Absolutely ruined our backup unit.

Extremely fun regular season.

Most frustrating Playoff series ever.

The two guys that got us to the playoffs in Thibs and Julius; became the same two guys who sent us home and eliminated us.

That's ridiculous. Inserting Rose in the starting spot was not the undoing. Starting 5 had no chemistry. It had us down in most games and playing 4 on 5 most nights. What it did was hide Randle's ineffectiveness. We were so keyed in on Payton's ****, that Randle's non-team, non-winning basketball went unnoticed and instead of him being the villain (which he should have), he became the the guy everyone implored to get help. THEN, you get him some help and he looks not just bad, but stupid. Can't adjust. Unsure of what to do. Still looking to orchestrate. Short fuse. Bad body language. Worse effort.

Thib's putting Rose in the starting lineup was not stupid because he did it in game 2. It was moronic beyond believe because he waited that long. He should have done that MONTHS ago and everyone (including Thibs) knew it.

Should he have done it months ago? Our bench unit and chemistry looked better with Rose in that 6th man role. We got blown out 3 games in a row. I still think we would have lost the series but the changes to the starting lineup were a terrible mistake

Shout out to all the people who said I was acting irate about randle in the first game the second and the third game. Well it looks like like the 4th and 5th game validated my point. He is not a franchise player. He is someone of value you trade and get more young talent for. If there was a all star free relent we can get this year you get him help then you keep him. “well there is no franchise Allstar players on the market” “his asking price is to high” oh and did I mention he also had the worst playoff series in the nba’s shot clock era?.

He’s what you call fake hard. He does a lot of fake hustling and is very on off with his motor.

I’m just going to count this as a victory for my self that I was validated I was being irate I was being rational. The people who were irrational were the was delusional enough to think he was going to have a big game.

If we never had fans again I sign him to a max.

But that’s not the case he is a mental midget and should only make half of what he want from the max .

Have a good safe summer everyone. I will apologize if I angered anyone. I’ve been going through a hard time in my life and watching the Knicks during that run brought some much needed positivity in my life. Although I made the mistake on relying on them to only disappoint me.

God bless everyone and I’ll say at least obi showed flashes. Quickley a lot of flashes during the season. RJ needs to work more. But I’ll be be honest he has showed flashes as well. Take care everyone.

I’m just hoping this experience makes Randle and RJ better in the long run at this point.. but yeah.. their showing didn’t inspire much confidence in trusting them with the keys to the franchise moving foward
