Man listening to some Knicks spaces on Twitter and holy chit some of these dudes takes on the Knicks are some of the most absurd things.
I get why people hate our fan base.

He was scoring in isolation, he was not playing off of Luka, he was a release valve for the Mavs when they couldn't get anything else. In the playoffs he was scoring 1.07ppp in isolation, for comparison Donovan Mitchell scored 1.13. Brunson was 5th overall in the playoffs for points total in isolation, and 10th in points per game from isolation at 4.4ppg, Mitchell and KD were tied for 9th with 4.5ppg.

You're trying to make a point that doesn't even make sense, he was scoring when Luka was literally out injured, what presence did Luka have then?

He is a legitimate offensive weapon in his own right and with increased touches, usage and opportunity is a lock to be a 20ppg scorer, much like Brogdan and FVV did.

Excuse me if i'm a little skeptical but remember the last time we gave a guy a hefty contract who played well in a contract year. Played so well, we resigned the whole team while bringing in Evan. Brunson thrived in Kidd's 5 out system. I don't see Thibs running 5out at all especially if we resign Mitch. The fans screamed for him to play Obi and Randle together but he forced Gibson down our throats!

Brunson is as good as signed here. Knicks would’ve went harder for Murray or someone else if that wasn’t the case.

He's taking the free dinners because he still can't sign until the moratorium ends.

You’d think they’d be scared sh 1t of losing Luka and would do anything to keep him happy and the team good

Sure it’s an overpay and he’s not an ideal second option but it’s better then losing him for nothing and there not gonna have cap space to sign anyone even if they let him go.

Just bizarre to me

That would totally be bizarre IF that's what was actually happening here.

Why? It's already been rumored that he wants to be the lead ball handler for a team, not be an on ball guy that plays off the most ball dominant player in the NBA. It makes sense.

Comfort, closeness to winning etc. 2 of the 3 teams hes sitting down with doesnt need lead ball handlers. Till we hear it out of jalens mouth...

Brunson visiting other teams is just to avoid tampering charges....details of contract have been out for days prior to f.a.

Yea it’s fun to think about him not coming, but after 10 seconds you realize you’re lying to yourself. It’s a done deal

I totally agree with all that - I wasn't saying otherwise. I was just responding to you being "shocked if the mavs gave him a competitive number and he went elsewhere". I was saying that scenario is completely explainable if it happens and he moves to the Knicks or Heat despite a competitive DAL offer.

And remember, one of the first to break the "Brunson is thought to be as good as gone to the Knicks" news was Cuban mouthpiece, Marc Stein. That means it was the Mavs who started floating that it was done to the Knicks. If I start seeing that stuff out there and there's still time to maneuver, you better believe that I'm setting up meetings with multiple teams to make sure they can't act on that energy.

Seems like our young guys love him, if only he had that Theo Pinson magic to him.
