A winning record will secure Cashman's job and a playoff appearance will give him another extension. I am 90 percent convinced that a losing season will get him canned. There will be so much backlash from the media and from Yankee fans that Hal will have no other choice but to replace his golden boy. And I don't think he will be able to have the safety net of blaming the season on injuries because the Yankees are in the position that they're in due to the fact that they gave out ridiculous contracts to guys with health issues and didn't bother addressing their real necessities.

That Rodon signing might be the nail in the coffin for Cashman. Carl Pavano vibes. Hal should have fired him last off season for the Montes fiasco, giving up all those pitching prospects for damaged goods.

Those prospects have been terrible so far (JP Sears and Ken Waldichuk, right-hander Luis Medina).
Those prospects cashman traded for sonny gray were also terrible. The same for Justus Sheffield and Jesus Montero.

The fact that Cashman has zero ability to develop homegrown pitchers and has to resort to trading for guys who are either injury prone or cannot succeed in NY says something about his level of incompentency.

This offense is comical... Hicks is encouraged for getting his 1st extra base hit of 2023? Are u kidding me.... There's 9 count them NINE guys that's batting below .200 considerably below...

Donaldson bum ass in 5 games was hitting .125, Hicks .143, Cordero .151, higgy & peraza both hitting .188, Cabrera .202, IKDGAF .203, Volpe .212, Trevino .222

Everybody else is almost .250+

This is madness...

It's funny how all you need in life to have an important position and have 100% job security is a father that is in a position of power or a dad who is good friends with someone with power. Compentency and the right qualifications to get the job done are not a prerequiste.

Brian Cashman is the walking definition of "failing upwards".

Imagine if we had just 1-2 of Jeter, Posada, Bernie, Tino, Damon, Sheffield, Soriano, Cano

Hell I'd take Reuben Sierra maybe Boone wouldn't be a complete putz and he could bail him out when we need runs late

Amazing that we need multiple bats and pitching

Dolan used to be at the very top of my list of human beings that I've despised the most when it came to the teams that I support, but in recent years he has fallen in back of Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman. Talk about taking a once proud and winning franchise and turning them into an absolute crap show and then not giving a damn about the very fanbase that has supported the team all of these years.

How is volpe looking for those of you that watch the games? Statistically, hes looking a little better each day.

No Gardy last year and now no more Hicks.

Hopefully Giancarlo can come back and stay Healthy. Judge can't be superman forever.

I am not going to celebrate Hicks being DFA until I see him wearing another uniform.Cashman loves this man so much that he is probably crossing his fingers somewhere hoping that the Yankees can somehow reclaim him in the midnight hour.

This is an excellent discussion on the topic...

This may have been one of the bigger nails on the Hicks coffin...

Well I'll be damned. Part of arguably the best clip in cinematic history seems perfectly appropriate.

The lead up vibe.

And where I and right now.

Ill tell you what. I'm shocked that Cashman and Hal finally did what everyone else said they should have done.

Getting rid of Hicks, but having Cashman continue running the show is like trying to treat a brain tumor with a Tylenol tablet.
