Some of these comments are laughable. Others are downright pathetic.
IT'S THIB'S FAULT: Thibs didn't run over Julius, a Miami Heat player did. So, how was the injury Thibs' fault??
TIME TO THROW IN THE TOWEL AND TANK: Huh??? One player can't make the playoffs, so we throw the whole season away and quit?? Who does that??
These are all emotional, knee-jerk reactions. Get it out of your system and suck it up.
When some of you calm down, you may remember that the KNICKS are only ONE game out of 3rd place. After years of not making the playoffs at all, you don't waste that opportunity and tank solely because everything isn't "perfect." You also don't waste Brunson's prime by telling him you want to throw an entire season away over the absence of one player.
You may also realize that the KNICKS are trying to build a culture/reputation more than they are trying to win a championship THIS YEAR (did you really think we were winning it all this season??). People are talking about us again as legit contenders. Players are considering us again as a legit landing spot. With that in mind, we have to go as far in the playoffs as we can since that's how you attract a Giannis, Booker, etc. Quitting now not only erases all the work we've put in, but makes us look like a laughing stock to the rest of the league.
We're in position to go deep in the playoffs. Our franchise (finally) looks competent to players around the league. We have a boatload of draft picks and the ability to snag a true star this offseason.
With all that, we keep going. We don't take our marbles and run home now!!
