Awesome hopefully this paranoia helps us get many more bargain extensions in the future

Yeah for the next time Thibs transforms a role player into All-NBA Second Team by hurling him 99% velocity at the rim for 90 games @40 min per.

There’s paranoia and there’s common sense. Personally, I’d take the money up front if I were Jalen. If he stays healthy, he’ll more than make it up later.

90% velocity rookie numbers
Gotta get it up to triple digit fastball numbers and blow the arm out.

The amount of **** people heap on Randle is wild. Dude is a great second banana to Brun. It's to bad we didn't get to see it this season.

It’s funny people can’t believe Brunson will take this deal, but we all shake our heads at how bad Demarcus Cousin and Isiah Thomas careers went. Heck we all shake our heads at teams that are structurally flawed and unable to improve because the top guys on the team took every dollar they could get. Brunson applies a low risk approach to both his wallet and his career and some people are offended.

At the end of the day $156 million….. is $156 million, and you are getting that to play on a really good team.

Also to put this really into perspective there isn’t a thread about this on the main GB board because it’s great news for the Knicks and the GB board hates the Knicks.

The more I think about it.. unless Giannis is available I want to see this team intact. I think chemistry and consistency is the key if we're keeping Randle. That will be our advantage. It would be a lot easier offseason if we sign both Brunson to nice deals. If Randle and Brunson agrees to 4 year 156 million (Randle takes another paycut).. then the motivation with this team is to win and be on the pantheon of Knicks lore.

I would hope his PR people would get out in front that story and shut it down for his sake.

You mean 4/140

Even if Brunson takes this lower deal, we’re still looking at 40 mil per each for him, OG, and Randle. Then 20+ for Hart, 12 for Donte, 12? for Mitch, and whatever resign hart for. That’s easily 180. We’re officially a tax team again. Deep, but still at minimum first apron right?

Edit: It could just be Rose and Co. explained to Jalen the math and he just wants us to keep the core together. At least until the bump that will occur in 2025 or 2026? There will undoubtedly be another large spike in the salary cap.

Edit 2: A declining deal for OG would be massively helpful. Can someone check my math? I know we have some real deal capologists in here.

We desperately need some draft picks to hit to keep our depth.

Hopefully Brunson doesn't read this thread. All of us telling him how much $ he's leaving on the table might make him change his mind.

Without knowing much about Brunson all I have to do is look at his father. Look at his work ethic. Look at the fact that he's married
before 30. Brunson's dad has walked the nba walk before and he will share all of his wisdom with Brunson. :D

I'm not surprise by these rumors...It matches Brunson and all of his actions...

Talking about his Dad. He was the one who said several times they told Cuban extend us. They would have accepted and then it got to the point there was no guaranteed money so they went for broke. As a former player he’s probably gone over this scenario hundreds of time in his head and seen it play out all sorts of ways and informed his son to always take the guaranteed money.

That’s the definition of the saying one bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush.
