4-4 without Brunson. #3 seed could be up for grabs. #2 seed slipped out of reach.

I don't think we really need this to confirm what we know. Tier B team with an excellent record against similar or below teams. Knicks aren't a Tier A team, yet. KAT not at C and Hart as a super 6th man makes this existing roster better.

I took a break in November of 2023 from this team until they made the OG trade.

Doing the same until Thibs is gone.

Has been a solid run fellas.

But as long as Thibs is the head coach its a waste of time.

So happy for OG though. Easily top 5 favorite Knicks ever.

Whatever
#3 seed
Who cares
Doesn't matter
Who really gives a shyt?

The defense gives up open threes
The offense gets stagnant due to lack of creativity.

We will lose in the second round of we even get there. Thibs sucks.

Many of my fears on the KAT trade are here.

- Knicks have an identity crisis. They're not a grit team, but not quite a finesse team, either.
- The offense doesn't utilize KAT they way I was told it would. This was my #1 deterrence with the whole Randle v. KAT deal.
- OG/Hart combo as your forwards does not work long term. Everyone needs to go back to their natural position (OG at SF, Bridges at SG, Hart as 6th man).
- KAT trade demolished the depth we were proud of last season.

I'm not crazy about the current product. KAT can't be our C unless he's paired with a defensive minded PF. I'm not sure who that can be. Maybe it's Robinson. Maybe it's someone else. I'm hoping for a Memphis fire sale and wishful thinking.

I really wish KAT had KP IQ.

A team full of players everyone hates and a HC everyone else hates just made the 3 seed and, secured 50+ wins back to back for the first time in THIRTY YEARS!! We get a young hustling Pistons team in the first round. We struggled with them this season so I don't expect an easy series. I just want a healthy team for this run. Thibs is about to face nothing but .500 or better teams. Can he break his own curse? We find out starting Saturday night! LFGK!!!!!

According to NBAcrazystats, the New York Knicks' starting five has the highest scoring average for a starting lineup since the 1976-77 season. The average is 97.9 points per game. Historic!!

New York Knicks

42.9
Field goal percentage
49%
Three point percentage
39.5%
Assists per game

Still improving. Leon built a title contender. We are one the the best teams in the entire league. We have legit superstar players in their prime. Playing with other all star level talents. On good/great contracts. The vibes are immaculate. Is this real life? Seriously. I don't think this has dawned on a lot of people yet. It's kind of making my head spin typing these words honestly. We are a legit threat to win the title this year. LEGIT!

Soak it in.
This team can legit win the NBA title this year.
This team can legit win the NBA title this year.
This team can legit win the NBA title this year..
THIS TEAM CAN LEGIT WIN THE NBA TITLE THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!

I'll post my own damn receipts for those who wanna talk trash!!

This was back when people wanted to trade everyone for Giannis and were trashing the entire roster. Trashing Mikal for the picks since preseason.Trashing KAT and pining for Randle and Donte all friggin season and right up into the playoffs. Trashing Hart. Talking about trading selfish Brunson. Trashing the entire bench.

Now let's move forward and enjoy the current situation together and stop trying to start pissing contests. What is the point of that? IT'S BEEN 25 YEARS!!!!!!!

Thibs is coaching malpractice. It’s never been a talent issue …never

so something I think is interesting

our current Knicks core are similar in age to the '01 Knicks (1st season post-Ewing) that lost in 5 games to Vince Carter's Raptors, but won 48 games in the regular season

I wasn't around in 2001. Did people on here feel like they had a 3 year run without Ewing?

Mitch is the same age as Camby around this time.

Jalen, KAT, Mikal, OG, Josh are just two years away from being as old as Houston, Sprewell, Johnson, and Rice

McBride is the only really young guy we have among our core guys.

Thibs was an assistant on the '01 Knicks. Both Brunson and Harrington are assistants for this year's team and LJ and Houston are both part of the Knicks' staff.

'01 Knicks ages:
Latrell Sprewell - 30
Allan Houston - 29
Kurt Thomas - 28
Marcus Camby - 26
Mark Jackson - 35
Glen Rice - 30
Charlie Ward - 30
Othella Harrington - 27
Larry Johnson - 31 (injured before playoffs, retired)
Rick Brunson - 28

'25 Knicks ages:
Mikal Bridges - 28
OG Anunoby - 27
Jalen Brunson - 28
Josh Hart - 29
Karl-Anthony Towns - 29
Mitchell Robinson - 26
Miles McBride - 24
Cameron Payne - 30
Delon Wright - 30
Landry Shamet - 27
Precious Achiuwa - 25
PJ Tucker - 39

So how does this relate to this thread?

I guess the current product modern Knicks very closely the '01 Knicks more than any of our rosters in the last 25 years
