When the starters have checked out mentally take them out.
Its absolute stupidity at this point and may cost us AGAIN in the long run.
After playing only two back-to-backs in their first 30 games, the Knicks will play 12 in their remaining 52.
Counting both ends, practically half the Knicks' post-Christmas schedule will involve back-to-back games.
All 3 remaining games with Cleveland will involve playing the Cavs on the back end of a back-to-back.
I keep coming back to we are a top 3 team because of the extra 3-5 MPG Thibs plays his top guys.
If he played those guys less, it would cost the teams win, and likely a top 3 slot.
But by playing those guys more, they are gassed come playoff time.
We have a regular season team built for a regular season coach.

And you can tell that Mike Breen absolutely loves working with Jamal. Their banter is just natural and he's always coming with some great insight from the player angle that's easy for the audience to digest.
He's a natural at this.
Jamal actually makes Breen better, in the same way our star PG makes his teammates better. He sets them up and passes of to him. I love Clyde, but nice to know we may have someone good waiting in the wings.

I have to say... next time I suggest starting Precious over Hart -- somebody slap me. That play where Precious dribbled the ball to an attempted pass that went to noone was freakin hilarious and it took Thibs 3 seconds to pull him for Hart. Bless Precious' heart. LOL

It also requires a brain. Fortunately, our players all seem to have one.

Knicks have the core that makes role players look amazing. Let cam go get paid and bring in new mercenary ring chasers next year.
Cam might not get much more money than the minimum. He has played on 7 different teams. He's a 30 year old journey man.
Agreed... plus I think I recall him saying he WANTED to come here, meaning he had other options. He's buds with Mikal. So, he might be just fine

Re: PG: Knicks vs. Raptors: Dinosaurs are Extinct!
Minutes per game rankings
Mikal Bridges - 38.6 mpg (1st)
Josh Hart - 36.8 mpg (5th)
OG Anunoby - 36.5 mpg (9th)
Jalen Brunson - 34.4 mpg (33rd)
Karl-Anthony Towns - 34.1 mpg (36th)
Contract rankings this season
Karl-Anthony Towns - $49.2 million (8th)
OG Anunoby - $36.6 million (31st)
Jalen Brunson - $25.0 million (66th)
Mikal Bridges - $23.3 million (71st)
Josh Hart - $18.1 million (95th)
- It seems we are closely monitoring Brunson and Towns minutes. They're both below 35 mpg.
- Brunson is averaging less mpg than the previous two seasons.
- Towns is averaging the most mpg he has in 7 years, and 3rd most of his career. He may be in the best shape of his career though.
- I know the game is played at a much different pace now, but Shaq averaged 37.4 mpg his first 12 seasons in the league and never averaged below 34.1 mpg until his 14th season.
- The following centers all average more mpg than Towns:
1. Nikola Jokic (37.1)
2. Domantas Sabonis (36.0)
3. Anthony Davis (35.5)
4. Bam Adebayo (34.8)
5. Rudy Gobert (34.0)
- OG is getting paid like the 2nd best player on a top team, so I think his minutes reflect that.
- If Mikal doesn't get a Max extension offered to him after leading the league in minutes, I think he's gonna be pretty pissed off about it!
- With Josh, we don't have to worry about an extension until about 3 years from now, but I think he'll expect a raise on his deal too.
