So is it possibly that Thibs didn't want OG on Wemby the whole game then he wouldn't be in foul trouble and be able to aggressively guard him in crunch time? No, I suppose nobodies on the forum were right that he's a dummy and the refs certainly wouldn't be able to foul saddle OG by crunch the way they had KAT on the bench so much with the whistle.

Guys say anything to defend Thibs.

But thibs did this with Embiid in the playoffs. Ihart was in trouble with him for most of those games but when It was late OG was covering Embiid.

I actually think the Knicks game plan early on was to let Wemby shoot the 3. He was like 35% on the season so it was a gamble which failed. He started out missing his first 3 3s so the Knicks were leaving him open. But I do agree that Thibs should have put OG on him earlier. OG with his strength and length and athleticism is pretty perfect to shut down Wemby on the perimeter. Late adjustment but just in time.
