Only if we score 140+ so this doesn't count.

Maybe just something simple and small like a Javonte Green.
Don’t love Payne either but at least his leash can be short cuz of deuce and Brunson but we really have no other option when shamet is bad other than play Mikal and OG more minutes.
yup and Shamet is more miss than hit. He's way too streaky of a shooter and he's too small to play teams with bigger wings.
Payne can be a not job. Like that fast break 3 he had no business taking that he bricked. But he does provide energy and some scoring punch off the bench. When he's acting like a dum dum you can always just play Deuce more mins.
Like you said. When Shamet doesn't play well Thibs just reverts to not playing him in the 2nd half. And we are looking so much better with these guys fresher. OG was sniffing 40 mins tonight....gotta stay away from that. And that the difference of Shamet only 4 mins instead of 10ish mins.

Dinosaur coach...

So, even when they were leading games in those series (classic example of this is the Jordan Bulls) there was always the subconscious, ominous dread lurking that the talent discrepancies would eventually catch up.
While the dread still resides at a molecular level in my cells simply because I'm a fan of this franchise, it's no longer because the other team is simply better. In 2025 the New York Knicks are trotting out established NBA talent that can match or exceed any team in the league in any given night.
We're often watching our favorite team win simply because they're better at basketball than their opponent. They're not prevailing by getting on a heater, coaching, or outworking/outhustling, though all of those things can happen. They're just more talented and better at basketball.
Maybe the first time I've said this earnestly, but man - what a time to be alive.

We're all happy that he finally made the adjustments that we've been screaming about for months. Why would we want him to fail, we would just love if he could make quicker adjustments and get out his own way at times.
As i said the previous game thread, is what many criticized him for imo was done intentionally for 2 reasons, first which was an organization decision to play starters heavy minutes early on to speed up the gelling process and second deuce and precious were not 100%. So put this all together means in january this team is beginning to click on all cylinders

He already won a title though, so it's moot at this point.
