If it's a catastrophic one I'm taking a direct flight there. While I love to backpack and spend time in the mountains I'm not built for post-apocalyptic times. I want to go out on the first wave. Rather perish than never eat a banh mi again.

Anyways we can casually watch mikal now knowing we're all going to die before that 2031 picks haunts the rest of our knicks fandom. Life's better when we find the positives

The asteroid is estimated to be around 40-90 meters (130-300 feet) wide, which would not cause a global catastrophe but is still capable of causing significant destruction to a city.

Though, I bet if it hit in the ocean not that far from land it could be a huge issue.

Being ranked roughly 19th earlier defensively isn't a trailblazing statistic. I love your optimism, but that's not how it general turns out. I know they'll get better. They're just not going to get better this season.

We ranked higher than 19th , I recall 11th or 10th at one point. All without Mitch. So I dont think its "optimism" to expect us to return to that with Mitch , OG and players having an additional 25 + games of familiarity.

Depends on what stat you're looking at. I looked into this the other day. If you're going by Defensive Efficiency they topped off at 14th in January before dropping back down to current 18th. Call it what you will, but you're putting a lot of faith in Mitch that I would consider optimism.

Maybe faith in his health. But certainly not in ability. Mitch is proven defensively...and not only in the regular season but in the playoffs versus Embiid, and the Cavs front line. Not sure why some forget his impact on defense.

He also got destroyed by Bam in the Heat series. The better the team is with spacing the floor and playing 5 out offense the less effective he becomes. He was
basically unplayable in the Heat series. Not sure he becomes much of a factor in a series versus Boston. Might be more of a liability

It just doesn't seem realistic to expect an immediate impact from Mitch this season. Acclamation, health, matchups, all factor into Mitch's impact. And against Boston, Mitch's impact is reduced further. I want succuss for him, I just can't see it this season. I'm sure he'll have a stellar first round because Seeds 7-10 (I guess 11 if you're one of the few that thinks 76ers can make the playoff-in), he matches up well with them. Boston knows how to pull him out of the paint.

Yeah, miscounted there. I think the seeding for 1-6 is what we'll see in April. Detroit just another team I think Mitch can match up well with.

The Knicks interior D was held up last season by I-Hart and Mitch. We don't have I-Hart. Having the expectation that Mitch is going to shoulder KAT inefficiency seems highly unrealistic. Forget about the Cavs, this team needs to prove they can beat Boston, because that's who they are facing in the 2nd Round.

and he will be back real soon. If you really don't think he helps this teams defense there really is nothing to discuss.

Coming in with 2/3 of the season done, building team chemistry, hoping our generally injury prone Center isn't ever going to have a set back, and missing the other anchor. Yeah, that's how it usually works.
