Why can't both Thibs and certain players be the problem? Why do we always have to take one side and debate one over the other?

If they just listened and brought over Rokas Jokubaitis we’d have 55 wins already

Is there a new narrative going around that folks here being critical of Thibs' coaching is something new that's only happening cuz Ran_le is gone?
Wow. Lose a few games and the board goes insane.

Thibs' awful non coaching and roster mismanagement, KAT's inability to anchor as the 5, Hart's awful play, Mikal's inconsistent play are all serious issues.
No one should be getting a pass when the team just got whupped by lottery teams B2B.

This is all shorthand for “if Brunson doesn’t come back(at 100%) because clearly it’s a night and day difference of what this team is with him gone. Plus the drop off from him to our backup guards (deuce isn’t even a real PG and scam Payne) is insane. And please nobody bring up the rookie g leaguer like he’s gonna save the season
thank you. whole board clamoring for this poor man's jimmer fredette ass motherf*cker every game like that's the answer.
Folks acting like we are hiding MVP year steve Nash at the end of the bench![]()
I actually don’t disagree that he could play some because our bench is that bad. I think I’d throw him out there over Payne or Shamet at this point. But if we are hoping for a rookie who has never played meaningful minutes in an nba game to be the difference maker from getting blown out by 20 by the hornets to being a championship team idk maybe the roster has a big problem somewhere
I think that you're missing the point. Nobody is claiming that guys like Kolek or Pacome are going to come in and save the day. All of the top teams in the NBA utilize their bench much more than we do. When you have a guy like Mikal who has never missed a game in his entire career complaining about how the coach is burning out the starters and not utilizing the bench enough, that's an issue. You can't expect positive development and growth out of the young guys, if you only let them play 2 minutes of meaningless garbage time once every 10 games. Kolek has amazing court vision and is a floor general. That's exactly what we're missing with Jalen out. Give the guy some burn and if he blows then so be it. But his is a Thibs issue plain and simple and it's been his MO his entire career.

I miss Donte and Hartenstein. They wouldn’t have laid down like that. There’s no dogs on this team.

Teams with championship aspirations shouldn’t be playing raw 18 year old international prospects unless the game is a blowout and we don’t have the top shelf talent to blow anybody out. Even games against bad teams go to the wire. They’d never play. Not even over Deuce. Better off logging g league minutes
But like I said I don’t even disagree they could have played over Payne or Shamet(a true testament to how bad they are) but it’s not moving the needle for us in any meaningful way and I see it as insignificant compared to whatever else is causing us to lose

the bench was never going to be a strong suit in the 1st year. I think we all knew that. That is why we need to be more creative and try to find combos that will work. That doesn't mean throw out the same stale lineup because thibs doesn't trust the rookies or 2-way players.
No one is saying they are going to change our fortunes. But you have to try different things.
Why do people act like this is new for thibs though...its the same sh*t where he has been every stop.
Playoff rotations throughout the regular season...limp to end of season with injuries and tired legs.
The reason we finished strong last year was because Brunson went ape **** at the end of the year he avg like 40 a month from mid march to mid april. Unfortunately we don't have him right now to bail out the vanilla offense.

More of the Knicks fan base is starting to see what a complete dolt Thibs is.
The other perspective is more fans are starting to see that the roster has major flaws and expecting them to be on the same level as OKC, Boston and the Celtics with some other scheme was unrealistic.

Re: PG: Thibs B Gone
A lot of people were killing him for playing Elfrid Payton all year for him to finally pull the plug on him completely after game 1 of the playoffs...this man doesn't adjust. He had all season to see what most of us saw...kept on spewing the same "net rating" nonsense he does now to justify his rotations.
People complaining about Thibs is nothing new...he a floor raising coach. He's a more prepared less nutty version of Mark Jackson.

Re: PG: Thibs B Gone
There is a ton of nepotism on the team and as long as we are winning it’s cool but if we start to struggle things are going to look a lot worse. Leon, Thibs in the inner circle, the CAA players, the Brunson family& friends. Even Payne and Shamet were Mikal’s old Suns buddies and I swear that’s why they’re brought in and playing. And why he’s advocating for them to play more even though they both suck.
Hopefully if things do blow up they will bring in an outsider as head coach who will put boots to asses but it will in all likelihood be Rick

I mean thats how we got Brunson (the best thing to happen to this franchise since Ewing)...so can't really complain too much about Nepotism. We knew what we were dealing with when we brought in CAA to run the franchise.

We didn’t win a single game after he quit starting Payton. He started game 2 and we won. 0-3 and 3 blowouts after that. Rose played badly because he wasn’t coming in fresh off the bench anymore. Bringing him in as a 6th man was objectively better. This is an example of fans getting their way and it didn’t work. Same would be true with running Dadiet out there

He started game 2 which we won and was a minus 7 while he played 5 minutes

I agree with you on that, and things have been pretty good. So yeah I’m still ok with it. Beats what we were before by a long shot. I’m just saying if things turn south it might get more glaring
But yeah good to look at things in perspective, for whatever valid gripes about the team, coach, players, FO, still an improvement from where we were in 2020 and gotta put trust in them to figure it out
