what plays do thibs tell the wingstop?

I swear to god
I’m not kidding he verbally said a play
But there was only one option
Mikal and OG just nodded
There is absolutely nothing on the whiteboard
No marker no drawn up play
No second or third option
He did this for the last three plays of the game

There was not a single play drawn up on the white board
The assistant coaches Mo cheeks, and othella said nothing the entire game
Thibs looks so so old out there

There was a moment in the 8 minute mark of the fourth quarter where Jalen is riding the bicycle right next to me to stay warm; Thibs and Rick Brunson turn and signal (almost as if they forgot Jalen wasn’t in the game) and Jalen has to sprint from the bike to the scorer’s table

The coaching is non existent
Meanwhile Johnnie Bryant is bouncing up and down the sidelines coaching and calling out plays live
There is no one out there helping Thibs, and even he doesn’t do anything at al.

On the plays that we challenged, Thibs turns to our guys to check the video , instead they aren’t ready and Thibs is yelling as to why they’re not ready

Sitting two rows behind the Knicks bench
You see how uninterested Mikal is
He has no reaction to Thibs

There is a fair chance that his moves are very well known around the league now and defenders are adjusting accordingly.
And the defenders are taller so they can challenge.

Yeah he’s been defended by length for a long time now. The Dyson Daniels types, etc.

I love the guy but for me he needs to take the first 10 - 15 minutes of each game to set the table for others, let the scoring opportunities come to him organically. Make his defenders guess a bit more.

The elbow step back 3 looks good but is it the shot with 46 minutes left in the game?
I saw the lineups and saw that was going to be the strategy. And because Jalen is proven to not get off the ball we can't really exploit it.

I'd love to hear from Guano and less from Buzz on what they see from Brunson now.

Our 1 win came in a huge comeback game vs Houston otherwise we’re easily looking at 0-12.

This is a very soft basketball team. They only seem motivated and ready to fight against bad teams.

The coup de grâce will be when we keep Thibs, and Mikal leaves via free agency

Jose7 wrote:Hart is CLEARLY the issue and obviously Thibs.

OG Towns Mikal Brunson have to play offense in a phone booth whenever he's on the floor especially all the minutes he plays with Precious or Mitch.

When Duece plays, those few minutes we've seen him the the starters, the team is electric offensively.

Thibs and his over utilization of Hart have been such an issue this year.

Yall tried to blame towns.. tried to blame Mikal... silly ****. Havent even spoke about hart's defense this year.

Great point. I actually like Hart but he's to often playing the wrong position. You basically have a guard trying to play the power forward position way to often. He's to small. It works against bad teams but teams with real power forwards it doesn't work defensively.

i don't know if this is updated to include today's game but another dreadful 4th quarter being outscored 30-16. outscored 58-38 in the 2nd half.

TEAM IS COOKED

how can someone look at these numbers and not think we dont have a thibs problem?

Even Macri’s anti Thibs armour is starting to break.
Thibs is like if Fred Flintstone was a coach.
Denver just solved their Thibs problem but that took balls.
Please can they “promote” him to the front office.

Overachieving? We arguably have the most talented starting 5 in the league. At east top 3.

We should just play them more. Oh wait…

Last year's team overachieved, this year's team underachieved.

We really are where the Cavs were last year, they went 51-31 in 2022-23, then 48-34 the next season and the vibes were awful.

This is not shocking to hear, but it confirms the depressing reality this club is not being actively coached in any meaningful way.

That lost look on Thibs face you always see when he's on the sidelines is the one constant. The man really has nothing left to contribute.

Thibs is OLD yall
when I look at the replay on MSG, I’m the one with a bright orange Knick cap on behind the Knicks bench
Me and my boy are just actively in shock in the 4th quarter as Thibs draws up not a damn play

I wanted to see how much of in shock I was and yes
On tv I was just as in shock

Thibs doesn’t have it anymore. We are winning based off the talent of a team that’s playing a free for all on offense. It’s incredible we even got to 50 wins
Can you imagine if we had a real coach or system?

It’s game 81.

The fact that Thibs and his players are actually saying that they need to fix things right before the playoffs are set to begin just reinforces how much trouble they are really in.

They are nowhere close to being mentally prepared for the post season. The coach knows it, and the players know it.

Not one team in the east is afraid of playing this team. It’s embarrassing to see the lack of respect they are given throughout the league. No one fears them. The Pistons are looking at the Knicks like they’re food. Cleveland and Boston know they would beat us no matter what. It’s disheartening to see how they’ve taken a significant step backwards.

I never thought a Thibs coached team would lack so much toughness. He may have been a limited coach, but his teams always played hard in the past. This team just doesn’t have it. I know we lost Divo, iHart and Randle, but damn. This team just has absolutely no identity.

Last year we were 50-32

After X amount of picks for Mikal and KAT... minus iHart, Randle DDV, etc.

We might be 50-32

Return to New York Knicks
