Yeah, I know we can't fix every issue for the vet min. It just feels weird that the team is built around one of the worst defensive guards in the league and they are attempting to help him by adding more ageing poor defensive guards. They just got knocked out in the postseason by the Pacers giving up 129, 124, 125 and 128 per 100 possessions in those 4 losses but somehow we still want to focus on the offense.

The Pacers play at pace. They are going to score and the scoring will be high. Knicks addressed depth so they can match bench scoring.
Or the Knicks can exhume Chuck Daly and slow the pace down and use 20 seconds of clock before every shot

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Dadiet and not Kolek. He's young and has a ton of two-way tools. A shot like butter that would go very well on blueberry muffins.

Fine by me but how does it help? Aren’t we supposed to carry 14 players. Those two are making less than veteran minimum

Knicks need to add Matthews because every championship team has one angry, irritating Caucasian on it

It’s one of Shamet or Matthew’s and Brogdan. I think moving one of Kolek or Dadiet frees up $ but not sure

I mean Kolek is redundant with how many guards are on the roster but we need Dadiet for wing depth.

Brogdon isn't a poor defender and neither is deuce...we have a mix of offensive nd defensive players, but we more of an offensive team. We ranked 5th last season but only 10th versus the good teams, this season with all the added depth our offense will be legit.

We tried that in game 2 and still lost :D

I felt like after the Fournier/Kemba experience and the Bogey/Burks experience this front office would be a little more cautious with adding declining offensive players that were already poor defenders but maybe the third time is the charm. The Derrick Rose pickup worked out for half a season.

NBA demmands 14 or 15 standard contract rosters and 3 2way deals to begin the season. We can keep 13 players for up 2 consecutive weeks.

Before the season begins, we can carry up to 20 players.

We had 12 standard contracts and now 13 with Brogdon (although it is non guaranteed).

We still have second apron space only to sign a 14 player who is in a rookie standard deal. He should be Diarawa, Dink or Nnaji.

If we can not trade anybody we will have to waive shamet and Mathews.

We need to trade or sign another 4 or big wing. Any ideas?

This is a loaded roster. Very pleased with how the front office tackled this offseason

Any chance they jettison Huk, Dadier or Kolek to keep both Shamet & Brogdon?

Not Huk. He's almost guaranteed to play minutes. We're way to thin up front.

I've still to see him do something notable.

Does Kolek or Dadiet free up enough money for one of the vet shooting guards?

Shamet or Dadiet would take the roster/salary spot from Kolek.

Dadiet trade would release more salary. But I dont think it is enough to sign a vet min in the place of the rook min. But it would be enough to sign Mcullars in the rookie spot after 2 weeks.

I don't like it.

Im not willing to let him walk for a washed up Brogdon or shamet.

Feels bad.
